This company is representing a hospital that sends
me a bill every six months but they will not provide no kind of statement or history
They will not provide any kind of statement showing what was done and the balance never decreases when you call their computers are always down but they know how to place accounts on your credit. Even without any kind statement after receiving letter from Merchants Adj Service a check was sent to them and was cashed 5/10/2019 but after a review of my credit file they had all ready place this account on my credit file this is just wrong they will not provide me with any kind of history as to what services were given and a statement but they will place it on your credit file this is wrong.
I feel like before any company can place information on a person credit file that company should be able to provide the history of the charge I pay my bills I just want to know if you send me a bill just show me what am I being charged for because you could be charging for something that I never received that's only right but to refuse to do that and place the account on somebody file should be against the law

I am not happy because it looks like the damage to my credit was done before any letter was sent out or phone call was made. Before they placed this on my credit file did they make sure that statements were sent out and lets see them and the dates that the statements reflect. Lets see if any payments were ever received I know of a case where one family had to seek Legal help with this same kind of thing with this hospital or the one in *** Ga. What was done on 06/06/2018

On the original notice, complainant was given the required 30 days to respond in writing of any concerns or need to discuss the account. The notice was sent to the address as noted in the complaint. We extend the required 30 days to 60 before credit reporting in an effort to give more time for response but none was received. Since we received a partial payment, it was known that the complainant was aware of the account, however, he did not return our calls made before and after the payment. We will send complainant a copy of the bill and payments, as noted on his insurance explanation of benefits and the payment sent to us. As stated in the original complaint, we are ready to assist in this matter, but to date have not been contacted.
I went ***, ***, AL XXXXX to seek treatment for a sprained knee. I paid my required copayment and they filed the claim with my health insurance. I was under the impression that I have complied with the requirement for a health insurance claim. Nearly two years later, I now have a $234.00 collection account on my credit report and will remain on my credit report for seven years unless the claim is paid by my insurance.
When I contacted *** on 02/13/2019, I was told the claim was denied because *** did not file claim within 12 months from the date of service. I file an appeal with *** of MS but my claim was denied stating it was not filed timely. I did not receive any correspondence from the creditors giving me an opportunity to pay for the bill before it was placed in collection and on my credit report.
According to the Medical Debt Act of 2016, The bill amends the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to require a debt collector, before informing a consumer reporting agency regarding a medical debt, to notify the consumer in writing that: (1) the debt collector could report the debt to a consumer reporting agency 180 days after the notification is sent, specifying the precise end date of the period; (2) the debt will not be reported if it is settled or paid during the 180-day period. I never received any documentation in writing about an unpaid medical bill.
The account was reported to all three credit bureaus before 180 day after being delinquent. The date opened on the account is also incorrect. The date of service was 11/21/2017, it is being reported on my credit reports as 04/30/2018. I have disputed this debt with Equifax and Transunion and the debt was verified as accurate. They refuse to remove the debt because although it was reported before 180 days after the delinquency. I have contacted the original credit and collection agency to pay the bill in full to have the item deleted, since this is clearly a clerical error for untimely processing. I had health insurance at the time of office visit. The original creditor stated they will call or email me back but I never heard from them. I am requesting that this item be deleted from my credit file.
Other (requires explanation) Deletion of the collection from my credit file. Once deleted, send a bill and give me an opportunity to pay. *** verified the claim was denied because *** did not file claim within 12 months from the date of service.
4/30/18-Account received for collection..............
5/1/18-Notification mailed to complainant..........
5/30/18-Phone conversation w/complainant and explained any follow up re:insurance issues for 2017 dates of service would need to be done by complainant to his insurance company as claims were filed timely.........
No payment or further contact was made by complainant as to complainant's findings after contacting insurance and/or plan for paying the debt..............
Credit reporting was sent on July 2018 credit tape.
Complainant's insurance was filed more than once the first being within 30 days of date of service.
Insurance advised they were waiting on the insured (complainant) to contact them regarding coordination of benefits. It is our understanding that the complainant was also told this in conversation with the provider's office. Since no further contact was made by complainant to provider of service, account was sent for collection.
We will be happy to discuss and assist complainant with rectifying this if he wishes to contact us.

I have contacted the original credit and collection agency to pay the bill in full to have the item deleted, since this is clearly a clerical error for untimely processing. I had health insurance at the time of office visit. I contacted the original credit and explained that this must just be a mistake that I want to make right. I requested a pay for deletion. I was notified by email on April 5, 2019 that I can pay the debt but it will remain on my report and be updated to paid. My insurance company have provided proof that the claim was denied for untimely processing. This is a isolated incident. I just a citizen caught between an insurance company and a collection agency. I have not received a phone call from the collection agency nor a contract that verified I owe them anything. I do not have a contract with the collection agency for service. When I contacted the collection agency, it was in February 2019 that I was informed the debt was denied. That's why I filed an appeal with my insurance company. Why would I not cooperate with my insurance to cover my bill. *** responded with the appeal letter stating the original creditor was late processing the claim. I am requesting a deletion from my credit file.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
What's the name and number of a contract person with the authority to assist.
This complainant has entered complaint also thru *** the same time he entered the complaint here. A reply was sent that we are deleting the credit bureau listing until such time that he has a chance to further investigate his insurance questions with his insurance company and/or pay the bill. We have verified the information, sent him a copy and deleted from his credit for a time - not sure what else he needs.
Unprofessional and unethical employee behavior and practice.
Since on or around October/November 2018, when I originally became aware of this debt, I immediately contacted Merchants Adjustment Service to pay the debt in full. Please Note: the original medical provider never received my address change. Therefore, that was the reason the debt was transferred to MAS.
When I have made attempts to call, many times the office is closed (even though its standard 8 - 5 business hours). I have left several voicemails BEGGING for someone to contact me regarding the debt. I believe I've received two calls back, to which the gentleman left a voicemail. I had even tried to pay the debt online once before, but I received an error, so that is one of the responsive been trying to reach someone directly.
Today, March 8, 2019 ONCE AGAIN, I trying to settle the debt. This time, I was transferred to *** or ***; who is probably the most rude, unprofessional, and knowledgeable agent/representative you all have. Not only could she AGAIN NOT ASSIST ME in paying the debt, but she also attempted to transfer me to someone else without even telling who, and why. She refused to let me explain my issue and my frustration with constantly trying to get in contact with someone from Merchants Adjustment Service. After I left ANOTHER voicemail, with someone else again begging for a call back, I then called back to get in contact with a Manager. The front desk associate is ALSO extremely rude and unprofessional. She SHOULD NOT be permitted to answer phones. After, I again left another voicemail on the Manager's phone, I tried to call back to be transferred to a live person. Constantly leaving voicemails and getting no response is frustrating, when you are trying to resolve a debt and inquiring about a pay-for-delete option.
In all, I am not sure how this company stays in business is no one can help the customer. Please look into the actions and unprofessional ism of your team, especially *** and the front desk girl.
I am making a plea with the hospital to remove you all from handling their accounts.
I would like to be contact by either Billy Savage or *** to express my findings of their team's unethical and unprofessional business practices. I also find it essential to launch a formal internal investigation into the Shiela- Debt Collector and the front desk representative.
I will try to reach complainant first thing Monday
morning............
5/30/18-We received the account for billing and sent notification to complainant but no response...........
7/30/18- Account set for collection and notification sent 7/31/18.............
Calls made but no contact until 10/29/18 - at which time account details explained to complainant...........
12/18/18-Account referred to our attorney due to no payment............
3/8/19 - Attorney reported payment had been made
as a result of complainant being referred there by our office.............
We apologize for not being able to discuss the ........
I will call complainant as requested to discuss her concerns.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I received a pleasant call from Ms. She heard out my concerns and issues. She was able to resolve me concerns, as well as issue a Pay for Delete for payment in full on this account.
Unable to make contact with company for several weeks regarding setting a debt amount.
I have tried many times over the last several months to get in contact with anyone from this company so that I may pay my $520.00 collection account, more so in the last few weeks. I have dialed their XXX-XXX-XXXX number only to get a voicemail message every time stating that the mail box is full and not accepting any more messages. I have also tried the operator, which also goes to voicemail with no call back attempt. I have tried to pay the debt on their website but it requires an account number, one of which I do not know.
A collection company should be available, especially during normal business hours so that consumers who actually would like to pay off their debt amount are able to do so. Either clear this account from my credit as a bad debt or be available so that I can pay my debt.
We have tried to call back and the phone as listed in this complaint immediately cuts off and does not appear to make a connection - We will send an email to the address listed above with the account number. We would have been happy to answer this complaint through our website and give the account number. If more info is needed please call again and enter ext *** or *** -
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I did receive an encrypted email containing my account number, however, it is still quite unprofessional that one should need to go through these measures to get in contact with a representative from the business. Once payment has been made, I would like to receive a letter stating that the debt has been paid in full and the record removed from all credit reporting agencies.
They are attempting to collect a debt for *** in the amount of $74.89 that *** has confirmed was paid in early February.
The provider (***) confirmed I have a zero balance. Merchants Adjustment Service still shows an outstanding balance. I offered to conference them in with *** but they said they could not do that to eliminate the collection effort. Based on the letter received, the next step if I don't pay them could be reporting it to the credit agencies, thereby negatively affecting my credit report for many years. When the company they are collecting a debt for confirms there is a zero balance, they need to be able to remove the collection immediately. It would also be nice if they apologized for coming after me in the first place when nothing was due. My wife had a horrific accident that almost claimed her life, and we have paid thousands of dollars to the various medical providers. To have a collection agency after me for $75 that is not even owed is irritating at best.
Immediately cancel all collection efforts and stop contacting me.
1/21 AND 2/21/19 - Bills were sent to complainant while in the billing stage - account was not at that time and is not now in collections.
3/4 - complainant stated the balance is zero per a conversation he had with the client.
3/4 - We contacted client and in the process of getting an answer, the complainant entered this complaint. We should have an answer today.
The account has not and will not be listed with the credit bureau while it is in the billing stage. Assuming complainant does not want to know the findings of our investigation of the account, we will make no further contact, as requested.
They said if I paid the 100 dollars they would take it off my report. It's been paid and they are still reporting I owe it.
This account was paid on 11/26/18. The account number is ***. I was told this would be taken off my credit report and it hasnt been. Also, the woman I made the payment too confirmed someone else's social security number with me.*** is what she initially referenced me as. I now know someone else's social security number because of the lack of care of confidential information by this company. I want the account taken off all 3 credit bureaus asap.
I want the account taken off all 3 credit bureaus asap.
11/20/18 - Charge from 2/20/18 for 70.51 was paid and update from credit bureau shows it has been removed. Since complainant is stating she paid 100.00, please advise to whom that payment was made so we can clear up any other possible outstanding balance.
We will be glad to assist if complainant would like to call directly to discuss this.
We will also get back with credit bureau to verify they have updated this particular account.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The one they are referring to is a different charge. The one I am referring to has an account number of *** that was paid 11.26.18. Number called to pay was 866.728.2098.
The payment was not made in our office. Now that we have received the info where payment was made, we have confirmed same was made through our attorney's office. The account now shows paid and is being cleared with the credit bureau.
Tried contacting MAS so we can settle this with ease. Always going to voicemail with no call back however they report to my credit
Hello, I'm not here to complain. I'm just trying to get the company's attention. I have a collections on my credit reports for a sum of $250 with merchants adjustment services. I've tried to reach out and call this company, but I only reach *** voicemail each and every time a representative transfers me. The issue is I could understand that maybe she is sick or maybe on vacation. But the matter here is that no one has called me back but it is still being reported to credit bureaus as of December 3rd. But I tried to reach out to them the last few business days during office hours to potentially reach an agreement on the issue. Like I said, I'm not here to argue or make anyone mad. I just Want to move on from the past and repair my credit. If you can please give me a call back, unless I reach you before you see this, thank you!
This is not a promise to pay, however if an agreement is made between the consumer and Merchants Adjustment Services, we may or may not proceed with payment
We tried multiple times to reach complainant but with no success. However, we did talk to complainant today and the issue has been resolved.
Merchants Adjustment Services trying to make collections without submitting paperwork to support collection. ***,collection, very rude and nasty
Providence hospital in house paperwork of 3/31/15 was provided with detailed info of what service was provided under hospital #*** for $139.08. Request was made for invoice on 3/27/17 and 4/21/17 with detailed information when first notified on 3/25/17 of problem. No invoice received.Letter was sent to PrivacyGuard on 6/8/17 with complaint and ***'s rudeness and problem. Providence $660.00
letter received again with no supporting documents. 2nd claim $660.00 I called ***, (MAS) after requesting document in writing for invoice copy. *** informed me to contact BCBS for documentation. I kept telling *** I was trying to work with him but he kept pushing to pay claim. BCBS , *** @888-759-2764x*** informed me time period was 2015/2016 under my wife insurance. BCBS had left a message. Calls have been made since requesting documentation. But to no avail. Now *** has put into collection. He has not done his job as a collector to provide documentation for payment.
Supporting documentation is needed and if owed workout a payment agreement/plan.
We have two accounts for complainant from the same provider of service.
First account:

3/18/17-notice mailed to complainant at address given on complaint
4/21/17-discussed account with complainant but no payment ever received
Second account:
9/17/18-assigned for collection for date of service 5/13/16
9/18/18-notice mailed to complainant at address given on complaint
10/24/18-discussed account with complainant and gave complainant discounted amount if paid to which we were told it would be paid next day.
10/25/18-discussed again but now wants more info
- - we got the info and called giving amounts previously paid by insurance and advising that balance is complainant's responsibility under insurance plan. We understood complainant was checking with insurance. Insurance was verified by us as having paid under contract.
There has been no further communication or payment received.
I will send another detailed account to complainant which will verify the same info they have been sent by insurance, provider of service and our company.
We will be happy to discuss this further with complainant and help resolve these balances and any credit reporting issues if complainant wishes to contact us.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No information was ever provided by MAS to support claims for collection. I contacted BCBS requested documents and did not receive any paperwork. Nor did we ever agree to make a payment nor was a discount ever spoken of. If paperwork was sent by Merchant Adjustments Service (MAS), send it again as it was never received. I wrote letters and emailed MAS requesting supporting documents. But nothing. AGAIN PLEASE PROVIDE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR YOUR COLLECTION.
As stated in reply that we were sending detailed documentation again -- complainant has not had time to receive it and should do so within a day or two depending on mail delivery.
company claims I owe money for diagnostic X-ray in which I have never received any bills for.
I called this company to verify the claim and they would not cooperate and tell me who the bill was from or how much I owed
I would like to know who is trying to collect money from me and why. Ie the specific medical agency billing me so I can go through my receipts and verify this
9/27/18-Received account for billing purposes
9/28/18-mailed notice of bill
10/1/18-payment posted to account
10/8-received call from complainant wanting to know why they had not received a bill. Attempted to explain that the notice we sent was a bill as we do the billing for this client.
10/9-will send another statement with account detail and showing account is paid
This company has entered an account as collections on my credit report. I have no idea what it is for, nor have I recieved any information from them
This agency has entered an account as collections on my credit report. I hav not recieved any type of communication or information of what the account is. I have no idea what it is and I want it removed. This looks to be a repeated problem with this couples business. I wonder if they are even legally able to be a debt collector where I live in alabama? The first thing that popped up with a quick search on the internet was a warning letter from the FCC to this company about ileagally using transmission equipment to block raido and cell phone frequencies. Sounds like an upstanding business.
This needs to be removed from my credit report and i would like to see proof that they meet alabama code 40-12-80.
12/13/17 - Received account for collection. Previous notification was made by provider of service and insurance company.
12/15/17 - Sent notification to complainant at the address noted on complaint with no response
1/2017- began attempts to reach by phone with no success
5/24/18 - Last attempt to reach by phone with a message left on complainant's recorder - no response
9/17/18 - We will send another statement with itemized bill to complainant's address and note with credit bureau the account is disputed.
We will be happy to discuss further and assist in resolving any issues if complainant wishes to call us.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I will wait to see what type of documentation shows up and investigate this further.
Again -- we will be happy to help if complainant calls after reviewing
Merchants ADJ Service is destroying my credit, my score dropped 82 points. The account in witch they are referring to, gets a payment every month.
I pay my bills on time every month. Merchants ADJ Service reporting false Information. The account in witch this refers to is a Pain management Doctor, I been going to this Doctor every month once A month for 10 long years. When I arrive you see the receptionist she tells you how much to pay, if you don't pay you will not receive care. No exceptions. Last month I was told by receptionist that there was a credit on my account 250.00 for over payments, that there was no charge. To make along story short here we are again back in collections for no reason at all but to destroy my credit. I really wish Merchants ADJ Service, would give more time for the paper work to clear before DESTROYING MY CREDIT. By the way the over payments was because Merchants ADJ Service had slapped a collections on me witch I had to pay at the Doctors office in order to see the Doctor. This really seems like to me like the Doctor owns the collection agency.
Clear my credit score. Better communication with Doctors office.
We have had two different accounts for complainant sent to us for collection for the client mentioned. The charges for one account reflect paid in full and were cleared with the credit reporting agencies at that time. The other charges were recently reported as paid and report is being made to the credit bureau to delete the entries from complainant's credit file. This should take 48-72 hours to clear. If complainant has further questions or needs additional help related to credit reporting on these accounts, he can call us directly and we will be glad to assist.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I had a lot of interaction with MAS, it just doesn't seem to matter. Do they know that damage is done to my credit every time they report. I wouldn't be complaining if they would just give payments more time to settle, or communicate with the Doctor more. Look I pay my bills every month there is no need for this nonsense. Stop with the reporting for no reason. I pay at reception before I see the Doctor every month.
Resolution desired was to clear his credit score. We verified that the account has been reported paid and the entry on his credit file is being deleted. His credit score should be restored shortly.
Have not heard from this company before. Rep will not give his first name, only***. Believe this is a scam to pay my medical bill.
I have diligently been paying on my account to Union General Hospital. If there were multiple accounts, I was not aware of this. This so-called collection agency is demanding a card number by a certain time frame and I do not wish to give it to him over the phone. I've tried contacting the hospital but they have not returned my calls. I just want to make sure this is not some kind of scam to pay up.
I would personally like to hear from the hospital the reason for the collections letter. And how much I really owe. They can't seem to get their act together and this is very discouraging.
5/15/18-We received the account for collection
5/18/18-Sent notice to complainant
5/29/18-complainant called in stating that he wanted to make monthly payments on more than one account. Representative stated that we only had one account that was now due in full since in collections.
5/30/18-We made inquiry to our client and told that there is an arrangement there and we determined to allow continued payments-part of which will be credited to this account so as to keep it current and to avoid credit reporting, etc.
As far as complainant wanting to hear from the client, we are assuming he has done so, but if not, hopefully this answer will let him know the outcome of his inquiry
MAS called me about a debt I owed, the rep I spoke with is very rude and obviously don't know or understand FDCPA practices. I work in debt collections and under no circumstances can we speak with customers with anything other than respect . They're reps need to be retrained or reprimanded for their behavior on the phone. It's never your job to give your personal opinion or feelings. Where I work you would be fired!
Company never sent notice to me. I currently have Medicare and Medicaid. This company made my credit score drop 74 points. I have a clean file til now
On February 3, 2018 a collection agency by the name of merchants adjustments. This company never sent me a notice or anything. I have Medicare and Medicaid so now way I owe anything. This company should do research before slapping their name against someone's social security number. This caused my score to drop from 709 to 637. I have a clean file til this boot legged company screwed me over. I have insurance
Removal from credit files
10-10-17 - Account was assigned for collection.
10-13-17 - Notification was sent to complainant.
No response by complainant.
2-5-17 (today) - Received call from complainant who stated Medicaid should have paid but said she did not have the information readily available to give to us. She said she would call back with the info, however, the filing time limit may have passed since the date of service was 6-10-17. It does not appear she contacted our client when they billed her with this information in order for them to file in a timely manner. We will clear her credit file to give her time to resolve this issue and/or pay the balance.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
This company is a liar I call and called. They nor the hospital have any idea what it's os pertaining to. I do not owe a balance and I never got a collection notice from NOBODY. This debt is not valod
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We answered previous complaint 2-5-18 (last Monday) and received a response that the complainant felt the issue was satisfactorily resolved.
We received a call today 2-12-18 from complainant and reiterated that we are following up with our client to see if anything can be done related to her insurance issue and that this has been deleted with the credit bureau.
collection issues
I do not have a signed contract nor any contract with merchants adjustment.I have never done business with this company. I am not liable for collection from this debt from carolina radiology. I am not responsible for this debt with merchants adjustment.
Delete from all credit reports
6/5/17-Assigned to our company by the creditor with whom we are contracted and thru the billing process.
6/6/17-Notice mailed but no response and no mail return
7/6/17-8/1/17-attempts to reach by phone unsuccessful
8/7/17-Assigned as a collection
8/8/17-Collection notice mailed with no response
9/12/17;9/28/17 & 10/12/17-attempts to reach by phone unsuccessful
10/9/17-listed with credit bureau for non payment
We will be glad to discuss a solution to repairing complainant's credit if we are contacted.
Received a collection bill for something I was never billed for in the first place by ***.
We bill for *** and can't answer for what happens prior to receiving the account. We are sending a copy of the itemized statement today which will hopefully answer any questions. It has in no way had a negative effect on the patient since it is in the billing stage.
Breach of HIPPA laws
These accounts are my personal medical information and it is breach of HIPAA for them to possess or share ANY of my information. In my attempt to get all the documentation for this agency to even legally know any of my info I requested their surety bond, collection license number to turn them into the collection regulator in their state, I also requested agreement between their agency and original creditor and proof of signed contract and complete payment history. These have not been sent to me and I want this removed from my credit immediately, they are breaking the law
Immediate removal for violation of HIPAA laws.
Account was assigned for collection 5-26-17 and notices were sent to complainant 5/31/17 & 7/19/17 with no response. Attempts to reach by phone were made 7/5/17 & 8/22/17 but without answer. 9/5/17 message left on complainant's phone but no response. On 9/6/17 complainant made complaint through the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau)asking us to cease contact-which we have done- and stating that he had not been sent verification of the debt (which we did the same day--9-6-17). According to the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) Section 809 15USC 1692g disputes are to be in writing within 30 days of written notice. Even though that was not done, he received verification of the debt from our company upon request. He now states we have no right to his personal information. The same Section 809 states "such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector". To date complainant has made no contact with our company or the original creditor to either rectify or discuss the existing debt. As stated previously through the CFPB to complainant, we are ready to assist him with any additional questions he may have and also with his credit reporting status.
I am being billed additional money even though the insurance company has paid this claim.
I am US Army Veteran. I received a referral and authorization letter from VA Veterans Choice Program to see an outside Dr for an appointment on 5/19/16. On 10/9/17 I received a phone call from "***" who informed me, I owed $110 immediately and that it had already been placed on my credit report and if I didn't pay it right then, she was forwarding to her attorney. I explained to her that this was the first time Ive heard anything about a bill being owed, even though she claims I received a bill at an address that was NOT mine. I told her that bill was covered by the VA. She was abusive, rude, harassing, hateful, and threatening. I was appalled at her behavior and unprofessionalism. I called VA, who verified the bill had in fact already been paid in full and that MAS was side billing me which was against the law. The VA rep proceeded to place me on hold and contacted *** at MAS. She came back to me and agreed *** was belligerent and hateful and couldn't even find my file using my correct address. The same address Ive had for 4 years. Although VA Rep verified bill had been paid already *** refused to listen, to stop with collection and to remove the negative collection from my credit report. Currently the VA is investigating.
1. I want the collection stopped 2. I want the collection removed from my credit report immediately.
