Meramec Hardscapes and Concrete

While the actual concrete laid looks good, everything was not as great. We found this contractor through the Home Show downtown this year. When we met, we explained that ALL the rock around our backyard and pool was to be removed and that concrete would take the place of it ALL. Dan, the owner made his measurements and told us what it would be. Before we signed, we verified that it was for all the rock removal and concrete in its place, to which he said yes. Kept getting pushed back until finally August came and they were ready, although we were told June. There was one email that expressed due to rain they wouldnt start until July and then no follow up. After most of our rock was removed, the worker stated that the measurements provided to him would not be enough to have for the concrete needed. We then spoke to Dan who said that the partial section on the side to around our pool would be $400 more. We then stated that we asked for all rock removal with concrete in its place, to which he replied the rock is removed. We agreed to just pay it because we didn't want a half as look. Other issues were being told the workers would be back the next day, and after waiting most of the day called on our own to be told they wouldnt be there. Workers smoked a lot in our backyard and displaced their cigarette butts throughout, to which I am still finding some to clear up. The clean up after the pour is ridiculous. After they tore up our lawn from the sidewalk to the backyard because they didnt always use the boards that they had for their diggers to drive over, they left splats and chunks of concrete around the area and threw straw and seed over it. Also found a huge pile of dried concrete behind our fence in the woods that was left after pouring, to which after notifying the worker, they had to get their machine off the truck to go pick it up and move it away. I would not recommend this company to anyone and we will take our future concrete/landscape projects elsewhere. Customer service does not seem to be a strength of this company and more so.

Meramec Hardscapes and Concrete tore out & replaced a patio for me. Dan & his crew was very courteous, prompt & did a great job. He even had his crew come back and add a little something for me after the job had been completed. It's only been a week, but so far I am very pleased & would recommend this company.
