Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [My husband filed the initial complaint and I am responding My e-mail address is [redacted] The fabric and pattern was purchased with the intention of making the quilt without framing the blocks The kit did not include framing fabric Also, pre-washing fabric is customary (to avoid shrinkage once it is sewn into the quilt) in the quilting world When I was told the panel blocks would not work because I washed them I questioned why one block would shrink to 1/8, one to 1/4, and some stay 8." I suggested perhaps the panel was defective from the manufacturer The shop staff told me I could contact the manufacturer At that point, I said I paid over $for the kit and she should call the manufacturer for me I guess standing up for myself equated treating her staff horribly and being verbally abusive I did not demand another panel, but I did suggest she send me the one she had and request another one from the manufacturer to complete her kit This response is the first I heard about the kit in her store being sold to another customer who had not picked it up yet The shop owner was very displeased because I found her "fix" unacceptable Not once did she apologize for the problem Her solution was to send me 1/yard of fabric that would require more work than I agreed to when I purchased the quilt kit and it would not give me the look that attracted me to the quilt pattern in the first place I did ask if they would rather I tell people they bent over backwards to resolve the problem or pass the 'not so pleasant" story along The response was, I use to work in your city and people know me! Since the quilt cannot be completed in the way I expected when I purchased the kit, I would like a full refund Regards, [redacted]

[My husband filed the initial complaint and I am responding. My e-mail address is [redacted] The fabric and pattern was purchased with the intention of making the quilt without framing the blocks. The kit did not include framing fabric. Also, pre-washing fabric is customary (to avoid shrinkage once it is sewn into the quilt) in the quilting world. When I was told the panel blocks would not work because I washed them I questioned why one block would shrink to 7 1/8, one to 7 1/4, and some stay 8." I suggested perhaps the panel was defective from the manufacturer. The shop staff told me I could contact the manufacturer. At that point, I said I paid over $80.00 for the kit and she should call the manufacturer for me. I guess standing up for myself equated treating her staff horribly and being verbally abusive. I did not demand another panel, but I did suggest she send me the one she had and request another one from the manufacturer to complete her kit. This response is the first I heard about the kit in her store being sold to another customer who had not picked it up yet. The shop owner was very displeased because I found her "fix" unacceptable. Not once did she apologize for the problem. Her solution was to send me 1/3 yard of fabric that would require more work than I agreed to when I purchased the quilt kit and it would not give me the look that attracted me to the quilt pattern in the first place. I did ask if they would rather I tell people they bent over backwards to resolve the problem or pass the 'not so pleasant" story along. The response was, I use to work in your city and people know me! Since the quilt cannot be completed in the way I expected when I purchased the kit, I would like a full refund.

First It Is Important to note that I never spoke to the actual person who made the complaint.
In January a kit was purchased and the correct fabric was put Into the kit. All fabrics In the kit
are 100% cotton good quilt...
shop quality fabric. In March we were contacted saying that she
could .not get the needed size square from the panel sq~ares. · This honestly mistlfled us we had
made· several kits from the same bolt of fabric with no problems, in addition to making a quilt
sample for the shop. After a very nice discussion, we offered to send her additional framing
fabric to frame the block (which is an option In the pattern). She was fine with that. Later that
same day, she contacted us again and said no that she changed her mind and would not frame
lt ... so she sent us her panel to look at since we were a bit confused why she couldn't get the
appropriate size square. When It arrived In the shop, It was obvious that she had
washed/dryed it causing It to shrink so that the block was just a little too small. We called her
to tell her why her block was not working out. She got very agitated and treated my staff
horribly. She demanded a new panel. She was informed that we did not have one available for
sale (the only one In the shop was one In a kit that was pre-paid for and waiting for the
customer to pick up. She then talked with me and was quite upset. I explained that I didn't
have a panel I could trade It for ...that I could still a great framing fabric or help her adjust the
pattern. She was not satisfied unless I could get another panel. I told her I would try to get a
panel from the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer and there was not any bolts
available. After explaining the situation to their customer service department, I left a message
with the warehouse department to see If they had any extra panels around. The next morning I
was out of town at a meeting, when I got a call from my staff, saying that this customer was
verbally abusive and threatening to tell the world how horrible we were. I received
notification that there was no panel available. Since we had .told her several times that we did
not have another panel and for some reason she believed we did and the fact that her anger
was increasing, I thought It best to $end everything In writing. On Monday, a letter went to her
explaining that I could not get another panel, nor did I have one available. I included the fabric
needed to frame the block, the panel she had mailed to us and written directions for adjusting
the pattern slightly to make it work. I have not heard back from her since. It is my impression, that
this was satisfactory as I have not heard back from her since.
I have attached the letter I sent.
Review: My wife recently purchased a quilt kit from this business. The fabric pattern does not match the kit instructions, which does not allow her to create the quilt advertised in the quilt kit. We have contacted the company many times, but to no avail. They keep telling us that the fabric had shrunk once it had been washed. However, the kit calls out for 8" squares, but the "squares" in the fabric measure 8" X 7-1/8", X 7-1/4", etc.My wife paid in good faith $82.95 + tax for this kit. All we ask is that they give us a good piece of fabric correctly printed with 8" x 8" squares so that she can make the quilt the kit calls for.My wife talked to the owner, [redacted] just recently, and after a few minutes of Ms. [redacted] arguing with her, Ms. [redacted] finally stated she would "contact the manufacturer" of the material to see if she could get a replacement piece. On one of the previous calls, we were informed that they have the same kit in stock, took out the same piece of fabric, and confirmed that the squares actually did measure 8" X 8".Desired Settlement: Ms. [redacted] should send the replacement fabric to our Yuma, AZ address at no extra charge, or just refund the full amount paid. (Including the tax paid.)
