Broadway, Suite 2060St. Louis, MO 63102RE: [redacted] CASE ID NO.: [redacted]Dear Revdex.com,Customer service is important to Mehlville Modern Dentistry and we strive to ensure our patientsare happy with all aspects of treatment. It is unfortunate that Mrs. [redacted] is dissatisfied with theservices we recommended for her daughter, [redacted].Specifically, [redacted] was diagnosed with the need for three (3) one surface cavities on herlower arch. We explained to Mrs. [redacted] that they were very small cavities, and conservativelycould be watched, or we could take care of them proactively to avoid further implications.It is important to note; [redacted] was set to start orthodontic treatment so her Orthodontist wasrequesting a cavity clearance form and therefore, we are required to report what the evaluatingclinician had found.Mrs. [redacted] requested a copy of her radiographs shortly thereafter to have [redacted] seen byanother office for a second opinion. With respect to the fact that [redacted] went to another dentaloffice and was given a different diagnosis, the practice of dentistry is by nature one that providesgreat latitude of treatment possibilities, including conservative treatment plans and lessconservative treatment plans. This however does not indicate that one professional opinion ismore or less appropriate than the otherNevertheless, we are confident that the diagnosis provided was within the professional purviewof the attending clinician’s clinical perspective and that he would not diagnose treatment if therewas not a concern.As Mrs. [redacted] is requesting that we refund for [redacted]'s visit we are in agreement thatrefunding her insurance the cost of the exam is an acceptable compromise due to the soledifferences between two professional opinions. Mehlville Modern Dentistry is in the process ofrefunding Mrs. [redacted]’s insurance for the examination and radiographs taken on [redacted] as agood faith gesture.Respectfully,Mehlville Modern Dentistry
