Thank you for reaching out to us. In regards to this account, our records indicate the following:
Mr. [redacted] had a burner tune-up scheduled for 8/12/2014. When the Meenan service tech arrived no one was home. Mr. [redacted] was called and there was no response.
The service...
technician waited a few minutes then tagged the door to contact Meenan and went onto his next job.
Mr. [redacted] called Meenan back on 9/9/2014 where Meenan scheduled him another tune-up date of 12/15/2014.
Mr. [redacted] called in in October of 2014 and stated he was not able to get through to schedule service (which he had already in September). Meenan asked Mr. [redacted] to specify what phone number he called, who he spoke with, and what issues he was having. Mr. [redacted] refused to answer these questions. Mr. [redacted] then requested his account be closed. Meenan advised Mr. [redacted] that if he closed his account and ended his one year protected price plan prior to its completion, then he would be charged an early termination fee. Mr. Mrogan still wanted the account closed.
Meenan would ask that Mr. [redacted] pay his outstanding balance as soon as he can and wishes him well moving forward.

-10/9/14 [redacted] reported that he had a leaking tank to Meenan. A Meenan technician recommended to [redacted] that he have his tank pumped out to avoid further contamination of the surrounding area. [redacted] was told that if he decided to do a pump out, his oil would be be split between a temporary drum and the remainder would be returned to his new oil tank once installed. [redacted] agreed to a pump out of the tank for $200.00. The account's overall balance was now $983.80.

-10/29/14 [redacted] told Meenan Service Manager Jim G[redacted] by phone that he wanted a credit for the oil delivery made on 10/8/14. Jim G[redacted] told [redacted] that the oil belonged to him, was mixed with any particulates/sludge coming from his old tank, and had no value to Meenan, so Meenan would not execute a credit. Meenan would bring back the oil to [redacted]'s new tank or have it disposed of. [redacted] was not happyy with this and told Jim G[redacted] that he would not pay the balance on his account. For this reason, Jim G[redacted] told [redacted] that his account would be closed effective tomorrow and his outstanding balance would be sent to a third party for collection.
We would ask that [redacted] pay his outstanding balance of $983.80 as soon as possible. As [redacted] has refused to take his oil back, we will dispose of it.
Thank You
Hello and thank you for your inquest. The following is a summary of the conversation alluded to by Mr. [redacted]:On 4/13/16 3:25pm Mr. [redacted] called Meenan Oil and spoke with the General Manager Chris B[redacted]. Mr. [redacted] was upset that the Meenan tech currently in his...
home was going to put his account on stop because his oil tank had no legs and was on top of blocks. Chris B[redacted] explained to Mr. that the tech was correct because his current set up was not to code and was a liability risk to his home. Mr. became argumentative and refused to have his tank replaced. Chris B[redacted] recommended that Mr. [redacted] get a quote and consider the replacement for a couple days, but Mr. refused. Chris B[redacted] told Mr. that he would close the account for "failing to maintain equipment to code".

This customer has been with Meenan Oil since 10/25/14 as an "Automatic Delivery Heating Oil Customer".
This customer is currently on a Monthly-Payment-Plan (a.k.a. "Budget-Plan") that currently runs from November 2013 to October...
2014. Each month the customer pays $228 (budget payment) towards all heating oil deiliveries that are made during this period. At the end of the period (October 2014 in this case), the customer experiences a "settlement month", where she would pay for any outstanding balance that was not covered by her monthly payments. At the moment, the customer has an outstanding balance of $1,240.95 that is in excess of the monthly payments she has made, so she would be required to pay this amount by the end of October 2014 as her "settlement".
The country did expereince a very harsh winter this year (winter 2013-2014), resulting in many homes receiving 225-300 gallons more in oil deliveries than they might have otherwise in a more average year. At roughly $4/gallon, this explains the unexpected balance that the customer is experiencing.
Following the receipt of this customer concern, Meenan has attempted to call the customer seven times from 8/28/14 through 9/2/14. The customer did not answer any of these calls and a message was left each time, inviting the customer to call our general customer service line to discuss her worries (###-###-####).
We do ask that the customer pays her outstanding balance of $1,240.95 by the end of October 2014. We also invite the customer to call us at her convience to discuss her account and to answer any further questions she might have.
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are very sorry for the trouble [redacted] and his family had to face.
On 2/21/15 [redacted] received an emergency oil drop followed by a full oil tank delivery a few hours later.
On 2/22/15 [redacted]'s account was adjusted in our...
computer to account for his most current oil usuage.
On 2/24/15 [redacted]'s account was given a $100 concession as an apology for his trouble and in appreciation of his patience.
If [redacted] needs anything at all, we ask that he call ###-###-####.
Thank you again.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: This response from the business is FALSE. 1) It was not an "electrical burn". This was an electrical surge that back flashed through my entire home surging and destroying various products throughout the home. 2) The statement that our wiring was "not to code" as a reason for the electrical surge/burn is FALSE. The reason the electrical surge happened was because their technician did not follow BASIC HVAC code by checking that the wire connected to the heater was no longer "live". As stated in our original complaints verbally to meenan, in writing to meenan, and in writing to Revdex.com, this is why we are seeking damages for their careless installation. My husband HEARD the technician tell a third technician on the scene that the reason this happened was because "HE DIDN'T CHECK THE WIRE". 3) The company's statement that they told us to contact our homeowners b/c it was the faulty wiring in the home's fault is FALSE. They actually told us "go to your homeowners or get a lawyer". The General Manager **. [redacted] called and left this on our voicemail on March 5th.

Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us.
12/24/13---**. [redacted] received a heating oil delivery for 113.8 gallons from Meenan Oil. **. [redacted] was on normal automatic delivery with Meenan Oil at this time. **. [redacted]'s variable price per gallon at this time was...
$4.449/gallon. The total cost for the delivery was $494.92.
1/17/14---**. [redacted] called Meenan and for the first time, stated she would like to end her normal automatic delivery of home heating oil. Meenan took **. [redacted] off of normal automatic delivery at this time.
As **. [redacted] was on normal automatic delivery at the time of the 12/24/14 delivery, she is responsible for paying for that delivery at the price listed on her acccount on that date. Meenan is not accepting her short pay of the 12/24/14 delivery and asks that she pay the remaining amount of $71.71 still outstanding on her account.
Thank You Very Much
Mr. [redacted] will not be charged an Early Termination Fee. This response can be used as documentation for Mr. [redacted]'s records.
Thank you for reaching out to us.
The electrical burn damage in question, was due to electrical wiring at the home that was not to code. For this reason, Meenan suggested that the home owner contact their home owner insurance provider. The home owner insurnace provider...
would pay for any needed repair and subrogate any damages they believed to be the fault of another party. The home owner did not want to contact their home owner insurance company due to the high deductable that their policy possessed.
In this case, Meenan would not pay for any of the repairs in question. In addition, the customer's account will remain closed as the customer has refused to pay for the outstanding balance for services and goods rendered by Meenan.
At this time, Meenan would ask that the customer pay their outstanding balance of $1,816.37 immediately. Of this amount $1,134.41 is more than 90 days past due.
Thank you very much.

No, other than my visual checks of the gauge directly on the oil tank which I have stated.
Hello and thank you for reaching out to us. Our response to the customer is the same as when we were asked to respond to the Office of the Attorney General...
regarding the same matter. That response is attached below.

Hello and I hope you are well.
I have received your letter and as requested, we will close your account with Meenan immediately.
On 1/3/14 of this year you established an account with Meenan where you agreed to go on normal automatic delivery for home heating oil at a variable pricing rate. In addition you elected to pay for a Silver Service Agreement. The Silver Service Agreement would be good for a period of one year, or when you ended normal automatic deliveries of heating oil, whichever event should come first.
Since the foundation of your account, you received the following charges:
1/4/14 161 gallons $563.34
1/16/14 Silver Service Agreement $209.00
2/1/14 92.3 gallons $346.03
3/4/14 102.9 gallons $370.34
3/28/14 54.3 gallons $192.71
We have double checked our delivery tickets for you and can confirm that the deliveries above were made.
As of today, you have a remaining outstanding balance of $563.05 for the charges specified above. We ask that you pay this amount immediately.
We wish you good fortune and thank you for being a customer.
