Review: On 2/9/13 ordered a 12 foot AshMountain Christmas tree from this vendorHe took a 50% deposit of $909.50 for the cost of the tree at that time and was chased to my Chase mastercard. I made numerous to the store month after month inquiring about my order, its progess and estimated date of delivery. I was repeatedly told, "it was in progress", "it was being shipped", "it was on the truck", " it would be in our store by the end of the month" Finally on November 22, 2013 I spoke again with vendor only to find out that the item "was still in China" and had never been made nor shipped. I requested refund of my money from seller and was assured that refund was to be processed that day or the following. Seller asked for my CC information again and was provided with that data. To date I have not been issued not does Chase Bank have any record of refund "in progress"This ordeal has gone on for over 10 months now, vendor has $909.50 of my money and I have no merchandise and no money has been refunded. If my refund is not posted to my CC within ten business days I will proceed with Consumer Protection Agency and also file into Pennsylvania small claims court for failure to provide merchandise and credit card theft.Desired Settlement: Requesting full refund of my money in the amount of $909.50 from Meder's Home and Garden for inability to fill this order and to have kept my money for 12 months without ONCE contacting me with an update nor issuing saidrefund in a timely fashion. Chase Bank has documented recording of conversation with seller and my records of my repeated phone calls to track item, estimate a delivery date, and now failure to provide refund of money for an item that was never produced nor shipped out to me.

Review: On 12/20/13, my family and I visited Meder's to see Santa Claus. This is an annual event for us. We also needed a tree topper while there, and made a purchase of a star tree topper as well.When checking out, the young lady NEVER checked to see if our new topper worked, nor did she even provide a bag. That evening, we came home and attempted to put our new tree topper up to only find out that it would not light, at all. We tried it in several different outlets with no success.The next day, 12/21/13, we headed back to Meder's to exchange the tree topper. We had our receipt and easily wanted to exchange it for a working one. The employee explained to us that there was "nothing they could do" because they would not allow Christmas returns on or after 12/21. The employee was extremely rude and not willing to help me at all with this simple exchange. You sold me a defective product that doesn't work just 1 day ago, I have a receipt, so there should be NO problem in a simple exchange. The employee became irate, and therefore requested a manager.I am dumbfounded at how poorly I was treated at this "family owned business" that sold me a defective product. If anything, they should refund me for spending gas to come there again since they sold me a product that didn't work. The treatment that I received was beyond ridiculous, and I can only hope that they rethink their return policies after this point. I also think with a return policy like that they it must be MANDATORY for their employees to physically take all electrical items out of their boxes at check out, plug them in, and assure it is working.Desired Settlement: I request an apology from Meder's for the aggrivation caused, the length of time to solve the problem, and hopes that they will begin plugging in all electrical equipment before selling faulty products.
