if they know the controllers are defective, they should make other arrangements for their replacement.
It took the better part of a year to process the paperwork for my lift chair in large part because the employees at Med Shop couldn't be bothered to pick up a telephone and talk to my service coordinator from *** (my ins. carrier). After endless phone calls and no end of frustration on my part trying to coordinate the two of them, my chair finally arrived. That was three months ago on 11-27-2019.
Now (03-04-2020) my chair is standing in the corner of the living room, stuck in the fully upright position. When I called to inquire about repairs they told me it was probably the controller and it was covered by the manufacturer's warranty. BUT I would have to pay a $60 service fee before they would come out to look at it. I asked about just bringing the controller to the store/shop and was told it needed to be connected to the chair.
So my options, as a shut-in, are to pay their service fee (which I can't afford) or haul the chair to their 'service department' myself.
I can't report them to *** for fraud since they did deliver the chair, but I can let the public know they should avoid this collection of community college rejects if at all possible.
One parting thought; if the chair was new why did it break so soon? And if they know the controllers are defective, they should make other arrangements for their replacement.
Fix it or replace it. It's simple.
wheelchair will not fit thru doors of home
on 09-26-2018 I took a prescription for a wheelchair for my 89 y/o uncle to med shop in longview tx , they said I needed to bring him I told them that I couldn't bring him in due to him unable to walk very well, was asked how much he weights & how tall was he, I told her he weight was226lbs, on 10-05-2018i picked up wheelchair & took it to his home , the wheelchair was to wide& it would not fit in the bedroom or bathroom doors, on 10-09-2018 called Med shop & told them it would not fit that the doors were 29 inch doors & I needed to exchange it for smaller size, was told that was my problem that they already charged medicare for it that they wouldn't exchange it , I asked what was I suppose to do with a wheelchair that we couldn't use , was told basically that was my problem & that how are we suppose to know how wide the doors are,I told them I didn't know it wouldn't fit that they didn't ask me about the doors to the home . all I wanted was to exchange it
want a smaller wheelchair that he can get thru doors of his home
I was able to talk to their General Manager Tim M & he said that they had given him the wrong chair & that they would exchange it , He went way above duty in my opinion he sent two different size wheelchairs to my Uncles home so they could make sure it was the right size within a hour they had him a chair
