MCT Complaint Response: You spent money at Delta Downs that you did not have in your account Once you authorize a merchant to clear a transaction through your account, that merchant has the authority to try as many times as they wish to collect the funds you owe them The credit union has no way to deny a merchant from trying to collect funds that are owed them by law The credit union did not re-run the transactions through your account multiple times, Delta Downs did Every time an insufficient funds item hits your account, the credit union has to pay for that transaction through the Federal Reserve and therefore you are charged an overdraft fee by the credit union to cover that charge The fees charged you through Delta Downs are between you and them You can avoid all fees of this type in the future by not spending money that is not in your account

Good afternoon, Thank you for the correspondence regarding the concerns with our member complaint from Megan ***. MCT Credit Union has already been in contact with the Texas Credit Union Department regarding this same complaint, which we responded to on April 5, 2016. Our
correspondence from the State corroborated the fact that all policies and procedures by MCT were properly followed in this circumstance, and that there was no known liability on the part of the credit union toward Mrs***. MCT Credit Union’s member services procedures allow a primary owner of a membership account to add or remove joint owners at will, without the express permission of any joint owner. This is the instance in this case, and all procedures were followed in accordance with the processes outlined in our member services manual.
