The company acknowledges that it owes me a refund on payments of insurance. Their issue is how to send me the refund. They will not pay me. McMinn County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company (hereinafter, the company) acknowledges that it owes me a refund on payments of insurance premiums. Their issue is how to send me the refund. They will not pay me. I have been paying insurance premiums for a property in . (I have checks showing me as the payer.) I cancelled the policy upon the sale of the property, having made payments more than those due. The complication introduced by the company is that they had listed the property under the "estate" of my mother-in-law, now deceased. The company sent me a refund check payable to the "Estate of ." There is no such entity with that name. I asked for a check to be sent to me. The company responded by saying it would pay me the refund if the other parties to the account released any claims on it. I quote the letter from , Secretary/Treasurer of the company: "In order to make the check out to you only I would need to have written permission from all of the additional interests listed on the policy..." I obtained letters from all parties to the policy stating that I should receive the refund, and I sent these letters to the company. That is, I followed the instructions of the company. I heard no response. I called them, left my phone number for reply, and received no reply. In short, they refuse payment of debt they acknowledge is legitimate.
I remain hopeful that the company will pay me the acknowledged refund. I will remove my complaint upon payment of the refund due to me.
