On March 23rd 2019 I purchased a used 2001 *** black coupe form McGrath Acura of Libertyville, Il. My condition of purchase was based upon the repair of 10 items listed on their dealer "We Owe". Of the 10 items only one was not repaired. There was (and is) a windshield wiper mark etched into the glass that was to be "buffed out". Their attempt to complete the repair resulted in scratch marks on the glass. Not only did McGrath Acura fail to remove the wiper mark, they made scratches on the glass making visibility worse.
The *** went in for "We Owe" repairs on April 22nd 2019 and after 6 weeks, May 31st 2019, the *** was released back to me. Repairs were complete on most items with the exception of TPMS sensor needed. I was also told at that time they would not complete the windshield. I questioned my Salesman, Juan ***, and the service manager why they would not honor the "We Owe" and was told it was too expensive. I asked for their definition of what a "We Owe" is and was answered with silence.
The second service visit was on June 21st 2019. At that time I advised service writer Nicholas Lantvit to include repairing the windshield as list on the "We Owe" on the write up for things to be repaired. On July 3rd 2019 the *** was released. All repairs were made with the exception of the windshield. I was told once again that they would not make the necessary repairs concerning the windshield.
I think I have exhausted all possible avenues in this matter. McGrath Acura will not work with me to resolve the situation.
I believe this windshield is unsafe. It obstructs the view on the right side and should be replaced.
To whom it may concern:
We have ordered a windshield for Mr. vehicle. We had set up at time of delivery for the original windshield to have the scratches buffed and some other minor cosmetic adjustments to the vehicle. In totality we ended up spending over $3000 on his *** above and beyond what we had originally agreed to with the customer.
