Car was towed and damaged by McDels. Damages cost around $2500 to repair. Haven't received any follow through on repairing my vehicle since Sept 2017
My car was parked on Lombard after the posted hours on 08/14/2017 and was towed to ***. Before paying for the tow I informed the secretary receiving my payment that upon inspection my car had been damaged. She said I needed to pay for my vehicle and file a complaint with McDels (she wrote out the name on my receipt). She would not let me take a picture or receive a copy of the property sheet for my vehicle. She did allow me to see the sheet momentarily and exclaimed " looks like they didn't mark anything" So any damage on my vehicle is in fact from the towing. I then recorded the damages to my vehicle with pictures and video evidence before removing from Fallsaway lot and payed in full for the towing $272.00. Invoice # ***, Property # ***, TC receipt # ***, Release Code: ***. Over the next few weeks I tried to contact McDels to fix the issue. At first it seemed that they would quickly resolve my issue. This did not turn out to be true. First, Billy the towing supervisor was sent out to meet me and assess the damage. Once he reviewed the damage he said he was willing to get it fixed with his people at ***. An in depth google search did not bring up any company by the name of ***. Being skeptical I asked for it to be done at a normal reputable Toyota shop and I asked for a least a link to "***" so that I could check reviews. Upon texting him these questions on 08/17/2017, I no longer received any direct answers to my questions. My phone calls for a couple weeks to Billy, were no longer answered and he never returned my phone calls. To top it off when I consulted with my lawyer to sue them I required a resident agent to whom to serve the documents to. So I picked up the phone and called McDels and Monica answers the phone. My attorney cant find the business "McDels" registered with the state and so both my attorney and I basically take turns asking the same question. "What is the name of the business registered with the state of Maryland" Monica starts off saying "I can't disclose that information" Keep in mind I have received that same response from her with a variety of questions over the last months I had to deal with McDels. why are they hiding information that should be public? My attorney tells her "Mam every business in Maryland is supposed to be registered with the state...what is the name of the business?" Monica responds with "McDels" and spells it out. My attorney can't find this business registered under this name and this goes back and forth over a couple minutes until my attorney gets tired of hearing the same response. We ask for a supervisor and apparently Monica is the supervisor yet she doesn't know or is purposefully giving people the wrong information. We eventually find the registered name of the business is McDel Enterprises. I believe they have been giving this wrong information so that people cant complain about them. DOTs employees dont even know the proper business name and so people could never file a proper complaint. The towing system in Baltimore and specifically this company have horrible customer service and I now have to sue them to get my car fixed. As a full time student I hate having to waste my time doing this and dealing with unhelpful, dishonest people such as those found at McDel Enterprise.
I would like my vehicle repaired for the damages the towing company caused in the amount of $2457.74
Mcdels towed Mr. vehicle on 8/14/17 for illegally being parked during peak hours restrictions. The vehicle was towed on a roll back with all four wheels off ground. Mr. Toyota has two tow hooks on front of vehicle. Which is where and how vehicle was secured to the tow truck in transporting it to Fallsway. Once vehicle is at Fallsway, vehicle is removed from the tow truck into a parking spot only by the wheels. Mcdels received a call from Mr. referring to damages to front bumper underneath the bumper. Therefore, Billy the tow supervisor with 30 years of experience met with Mr. to access the damages that Mr. alleged that we did to his vehicle. Billy meet up with Mr. at a parking garage on *** The front bumper was loose on passenger side and zip ties was holding the lower shroud on. The zip ties were old and dirty from being on vehicle from existing damages. Billy informed Mr. at that time for his inspection that the damages and zip ties on this vehicle were place prior to us towing vehicle. The damage that he alleged that we done is something that we did not do and could not have done. He explained to Mr. that a roll back towed his vehicle using the tow hooks on the front of the vehicle and removed from the roll back per dot regulations. The damage that he alleged that we done is something we did not do to his vehicle. And that Mcdels will not take responsibility for some that was done prior to the illegal tow. At that time Mr *** advise Billy that he was a student on a tight budget. Billy only suggest *** because Mr. wanted to get the bumper fix. He wasn't working with a lot of money. He was just giving him a suggestion. It wasn't taking responsibility for the damages. Billy informed Mr. that we are a reputable company and if we were to damage any vehicle during transporting the vehicle. That we will take responsible and do the right thing.
