My son, ***, dropped off his letter jacket to be dry cleaned on Dec.12. The attendant told him it would be back in a week. On Dec.27 I called and asked about it. The lady told me she was training someone new and she didn't know that because of the leather sleeves it had to be sent somewhere else. I told her no one contacted me, I did not agree to this. The cost is $60 vs $20. I told her this was a mistake her employee made, not me.I would not have agreed to this, the leather wasn't dirty.

Other (requires explanation) I want to pay for the dry cleaning service, that was asked for, not leather cleaning , which was unauthorized.
We do not call customer regarding cleaning of garments. Yes, employee did not give the son correct information. But, when customer drops off we want their garment cleaned in the appropriate manner for the garment. Whether the leather was dirty or not is immaterial. It wouldn't be possible to clean just the body of the jacket. Before I could address this jacket had been picked up. After talking to my boss and the dry cleaner we had determined that we could deduct $15.00 the cost of cleaning. Customer indicated she had call maytag cleaning an agent for them in marshalltown and was quoted $11.00 fir jacket, $6.50 per sleeve for cleaning. I also called maytag and was quoted $32.00 for a letter jacket. We have never encountered this issue in 25+ years of offering dry cleaning. Customers who leave their garments for cleaning want them cleaned appropriately for the materials involved.

The Mayfair I contacted is in Ames XXX-XXX-XXXX, but that is "immaterial". I only called because the manager at Maytag told me the jacket had to be sent somewhere else, not dry cleaned. I also have never had a business perform a service 3 x's the cost without consulting me.the second line of her response says it all, 'yes, employee did not give the son correct information '. I paid $64.50, I would like reimbursed for the difference of a dry cleaning.
I am able to refund $20.00 to the customer. We are obligated to pay for the cleaning of the garment.

I don't feel a consumer should be liable for the negligence of a business. I would like refunded the difference of a dry cleaning and leather cleaning.
