Mayer Reprographics

Review: Mayer was supposed to scan and send me a set of documents from a customer in San Diego, who paid Mayer $10.80 for the service. In the email they sent me, Mayer failed to send the correct file and instead sent me someone else's files. I realized Mayer's error only some time later when I went back to retrieve the file. When I notified Mayer that they had sent me the incorrect file -- and not the one I had arranged for the customer in San Diego to send me -- their San Diego customer had paid them to send me -- they claimed the correct file had already been deleted. Nothing on the email cover letter says that files will be deleted after they are sent. While I could not get access to my own file, the log-on and password that Mayer provided me in follow-up emails DID give me access to the private and presumably confidential files of at least a half-dozen other Mayer customers in San Diego who had contracted with them to scan/send their material. I emailed several times to request that Mayer deal with their mistake and get me the correct material as ordered. They failed to do so, nor did they refund the $10.80 that I reimbursed the San Diego customer.Desired Settlement: Mayer should do a better job of providing the services they contract to provide, owning up to their own mistakes, and guarding the confidentiality of their other customers.
