Originally contacted Mavis to install brake pads only. Was quote $60 for labor for pads only since I already had pads. 4 hours after dropping off the truck, got a call informing me I needed new rotors. I asked for reason and price then complied with $400. I reiterated that the $400 price included pads, rotors and was also informed it included brake fluid flush and fill on my 2011 Escalade. It took 5.5 hours to complete and upon completion at check out was told my total came to $679.13. I argued I was told $400 and that was the only reason why I complied. The tech left to verify. I asked to also verify he changed the fluid. Meanwhile I went outside to check my brake fluid. When the tech returned he said it was $400 for the rotors not all work as previously stated and the fluid was changed. I informed him the fluid was not changed and walked him out to the car to show. He argued the black fluid was due to remnants. I refused to pay until expectations were met, but they would not let me have my car back until I paid. After check out I went to *** for a second opinion and to get my fluid tested. Test results came back with a copper content of 200 PPM (replace brake fluid)! If it looks bad and test bad, it must be bad. I immediately went back to Mavis and for 30 mins he search for video footage they changed it and prove me wrong, but never found it. Later the same evening, it was discovered I was charged $148 for labor instead of the $60 originally quoted for installing my pads. Can provide photographed documentation of test results. Refund Refund on the difference of the brake pad labor of $88 Charged $148 - Quoted $60 = $88 Refund on the Brake System Flush $79.99 Refund on "Shop Supplies" of $18.84 Justification: I supplied the pads and bought the rotors. No shop supplies needed. Total refund of $186.83, which is totally fair and justifiable. Can provide test results and receipt upon request.
