Review: This gym charged a membership fee to my credit card for more than one year. At no time did I sign a membership agreement or agree for this company to charge my credit card. While I was aware of the charges, I was under the belief that my spouse was attending the gym. In retrospect, I believe that Maverick's purchased my membership from a gym I had joined when it closed suddenly and clearly sold off memberships in an attempt to collect funds due to financial insolvency. I was NEVER informed of the transaction or member transfer, NEVER gave permission for Maverick's to charge my credit card, and I NEVER set foot in that gym or signed any form of paperwork. When my credit card expired, I began receiving collection calls from Maverick's and then a collection agency. When my spouse and I realized what we believed to be the cause of the situation, we attempted to contact the gym management, but a return contact was not received. I contacted the Revdex.com via telephone and was directed to the website.Desired Settlement: Maverick's gym stole hundreds of dollars from me. I want negative reports sent to credit bureaus and agencies rescinded immediately. I want all telephone and written communication attempting to collect the erroneous debt and threatening my credit to immediately cease. I want all records of the false membership to be corrected and my credit and credit standing as it has been impacted by this business to be corrected and resolved immediately.

Review: In 2012 I decided to join Maverick's Gym. I signed a contract with them at which time THEY copied the information from my debit card and THEY set up an automatic payment plan through my bank. I decided to cancel my membership and turned in a written notice of my intent to a Maverick's according to Maverick's Membership Agreement: "This agreement shall be automatically renewed on a month-to-month basis at the expiration of the Term, and the monthly dues payments shall continue until Buyer provides Maverick's 30 days written notice of Buyer's intent to cancel." Nearly a year later, and with no previous contact from Maverick's, I started receiving calls from Aldous & Associates, P.L.L.C. a collection agency stating that I owed Maverick's back dues.I called Maverick's and spoke with manager Michelle. After explaining that I had followed the gym's policy of membership cancellation, she told me there was nothing she could do because the collection agency had already been notified. Meanwhile the collection agency has threaten to submit a negative credit report to my credit record.Desired Settlement: I would like Maverick's to withdraw their complaint against me since I followed thier cancellation policy.I would like the collection agency to withdraw their threat.
