Review: Visited the studio on July 20, 2015 to schedule an appt for my first tattoo. To make the appt. I was required to pay the cost of the tattoo in advance. At this time there was nothing done except simply looking at a picture and them telling me how much it would cost and making the appt. for a later. After thinking about how much it was going to be and my parents unwilling to approve of it, an email was sent by [redacted], my friend that also was required to pay money in advance, to cancel the appt. The question was asked to see if we could receive a refund because the appt. was cancelled in a timely manner and they stated that yes they would give a refund if we came back up to get it. I am a college student and was unable to get back to Johnstown until Sept 25th when I was back close to the area. After arriving at the studio to ask for the refund we were told that they didn't have the money, that it was already used and that they only said that they would refund to "be nice". After showing them the email they still refused. The email did not state a time frame that we had to appear to receive the refund. After continuing to ask them for the refund we were asked to leave the establishment. My father then made a phone call to speak to the owner again to ask for the refund. He was then notified that "my mom " called up to the studio and he informed her that we were supposed to come up the same day we received the email to get the refund. Neither my mom or [redacted] mom called the studio to ask any questions. The owner said "we thought it was all worked out". We were again told that we would not receive our refunds. And again, we do have the email that states the refund would be given and no time frame is included. I feel that since no work was actually done that this is a misuse of funds...deceptive sales practice and a failure to follow thru with oral or written promises.Desired Settlement: I was required to pay in advance $88.00 for a tattoo that I did not receive and a refund was promised to me. I am a college student and just simply would like the $88.00 back in cash.
