I scheduled my family's appointments for a routine cleaning and when we arrived they said it is Xray time, this time. It was a routine cleaning based on a six month schedule. The hygienist took the x-rays before my doing the cleaning. When the dental hygienist reviewed my X-rays, she noticed one of my fillings had a chip coming off. I decided at that time to get a price to have all of my bottom silver fillings removed and replaced with white fillings. After reviewing the prices (days later), I called and made my appointment. There was no cavities or decay mentioned or notated on my quotation. I received a letter from my insurance company stating that my X-rays were not covered, I immediately contacted the office manager, Sondra, whom told me that it wasn't their responsibility to keep track of when the x-rays were covered. I asked to have the charge removed and she said she would need to call me back. When she called me back her story changed and she said the doctor wanted the x-rays done because he saw decay. Which is not true. It is clear that this was just a scheduling mistake and that they missed the 3 year window for X-rays to be covered by 3 weeks. In no way was the appointment to take X-rays due to my fillings. If that was the case, they would have taken X-rays before now since I mentioned I was considering replacing the silver fillings over 2 years ago.
