Bad Business team (Josue M. & Nicole F.). Not a real engineering or construction firm. Needs to be shut down
signed a contract with owner of Matos engineering and construction, Josue M. on 2/25 with expected start date of 3/16. This job was supposed to be engineered and permitted through the county and completed 8 weeks later. the job was to close in a porch consisting of approx 300 sf. After a rough start things were going only to find out the job never had permits filed. Multiple contractors were brought in to do various parts of the job and were never paid (after paying Matos over $16K). I was threatened with leans being put against my home unless these trades were paid. We had an agreement to pay these contractors that were hired by Matos, and we would be reimbursed soon and or take the funds off the final bill. The final bill came and went and we are still paying out tens of thousands of dollars due to no shows on the job, excuses of issues and so on. Here we are 12 weeks or so later the job isn't complete every wall is damaged, the floor is like walking on a roller coaster, the ceiling is like an ocean. Every single part of this job has damage, and needs tens of thousands of more dollars to finish. Matos engineering turns out to not even have a license or a PE stamp. He hired some guy by the name of *** engineering to stamp the drawings of a job he never even looked at. In my opinion that would go against some sort of engineering code of conduct, but I just don't know. About 8 weeks into the job Josue M. hired a General Contracting firm in Tampa, FL to file permits and get things back on track. This cost thousands of dollars to me again with the expectation of being paid back. We recently came to an end and understanding that Matos Engineering & Construction owned by Josue M. and Nicole F. was just not going to complete the job which they were legally contracted to do, and have now blocked all contact from us. This business should be shut down for good. Not only due to operating without a license, but because of the poor quality of work, and terrible craftsmanship.
