Mason Dixon Contracting is refusing to refund my deductible, even though it has already been paid.
On October 25th, 2017 my wife and I signed a contract with Mason Dixon Contraction to replace our roof that was damaged during hurricane Irma. When we signed the contract and we paid a 500.00 deposit which was to cover our deductible. Fast forward to 14 December 2017 and the insurance company issued us a check for the repair of our fence. In this check, the insurance company withheld 500.00 to cover our deductible. Seeing that our deductible was taken care of, I contacted Mason Dixon Contracting. Since then the sales person, Micha L, has said he would return our deposit. As of today, the 26th of February, it has yet to be returned. I have kept in contact with him weekly and he routinely promises to return it and then offers an excuse as to why it has not been returned. His boss, Lee S, promised to have our money retuned and dropped off at our house. I came home to no check and now he refuses to answer his phone.
I would like my 500.00 returned
Mr ***'s refund has been processed it was processed and returned to him on 3/9/2018 I'm sad he felt this way yet our company, followed through per company procedures and satisfied the customer.

I REQUESTED A REFUND OF $3,000 ON 12.5.17. NO REFUND TO DATE. SEVERAL CALLS/EMAILS NO RESPONSE.
I HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT I CAN SEND TO YOU.
On 9.22.17 the sales rep came to my home to discuss the roof replacement. He requested a down payment and I gave him a check for $3,000 which was cashed 3 days later. After several days of no contact, I began to call and email both the Sales Rep and the Company. I was told that the permits were being pulled and that the work would start soon. Another 2 weeks with more calls and more emails. No response. On November 27, 2017, I found out that no permits had even been filed for this address and that I had to sign a form for them to actually pull the permits to start the roof. On December 5, 2017, I called the company and finally was transferred to Kim Dixon who stated that she was not even aware of my problem and that the paperwork for the permit was on her desk. I told her about all of my emails and phone calls and that nobody was getting back to me and I wanted a refund. She said. We can still put the roof on....I said NO...you are not reputable and I do not want you to do my roof. I want a refund of my $3,000.00. She said she would issue a check within 7-10 business days. As of today, 12.26.17, I have not received a check from Mason Dixon Contracting.
I would like the Revdex.com to look into this situation and help me to resolve this matter. I am a Senior Citizen and I do not like to be taken advantage of by a business whose ethics are so questionable. They have an "A" rating with the Revdex.com...well as far as I am concerned - their rating should be an "F". I will be sending you all the documentation from over 3 months of phone calls and emails both from my son,*** and myself. This is absolutely not acceptable business conduct. I want my $3,000.00 back and I hope the Revdex.com can be of assistance.
Customer became impatient during hurricane repairs. Orlando Building Department couldn't handle influx of permitting. We got stuck in the middle. Gave customer full refund.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First and foremost I want to inform the Revdex.com that I did receive a refund check on December 23, 2017, after contacting and filing a complaint with the Revdex.com and Channel*** action news. I am writing this response so future customers know who they are dealing with. On or about December 5, 2017, I finally spoke to Mrs.D***(co-owner)on the phone. I was informed that my file to include the permits were still sitting on her desk. The permits were never filed/applied for at the Orange County Building permit office. The damage to my home was minor compared to other homes from the hurricane. I would have easily accepted them telling me, due to my damage I was a lower priority, and given an estimated realistic timeframe on when my roof would be replaced. Records will show at the Orange County Permit office, no permits were ever applied for through MasonDixon Contracting during those 3 months, which is clear proof there response to your office is false. Also I would like to say that when I received a copy of there second supplemental estimate to my insurance company, I was disgusted and sick to my stomach, after seeing the estimate went from $8800.00 to $16,000.00. I immediately called my insurance company to inform them of the possible fraud, which I wanted NO PART OF. Per my insurance company, a second supplemental estimate would only be filed once the work was started and other damages were discovered. I can provide copies of both estimates and all paperwork upon request. The State should be aware of this company.
