In the spring of 2013, Martin's Exterminating "treated" a rental house we own for termites. In the spring of 2014, our renter informed us that the termites are back in the same spot (in the dining room). After calling them to inform them of the problem, Martin's took a $125.00 annual service fee to inspect the home. Their employee then stated during that inspection that apparently the house wasn't treated properly last year and whoever did it was an "it". We were also told that there is a moisture problem and they will give us a quote to fix that problem before they can treat the house again. They would not even consider reimbursing us or applying our $1300+ payment from last year to this year to re-treat the house correctly and extend the warranty by one year. If they were to correct their mistake and move everything forward a year, we would consider their quote to correct the moisture problem and they would possibly benefit. Their customer service is unaccceptable.I am certain now we will have to go with a different company (paying the full fee again to have the house treated) and that $1300+ from last year and $125 maintenance fee from this year will have been stolen from us by a company who may have, for all we know, treated the house with water instead of the correct chemical last year. This company should be investigated for unethical practices.I understand that we signed a contract stating we would pay $125/year for the 5 year "warranty"; however, from what their employee said and the research I've done, the termites should not be back at all prior to 5 years and if they are back, they certainly would not be in the same spot. Obviously, there was an error in the way they treated the house. There is no telling how much damage has been done by the termites in the last year due to their inability to properly do what they are in the business to do.We chose to pay experts to provide a service we are not equipped to do andwe did not get that service.Product_Or_Service: Termite ExterminationDesired SettlementIdeally, we would like every bit of our money back so we can go with a different company who knows what they are doing; however, we'd settle for complete retreatment this year and a fix for the moisture problem for no additional money. The property in question is in violation of the General Terms and Conditions and Warranty Terms section 8 and 9 (please see attached).[redacted] has been given additional time and consideration to correct the flooded crawl space. Martin Exterminating has only performed a termite treatment on this structure and is not responsible for water damage or water entering into the crawl space. This type of issue, of course, affects the termiticide previously applied. Martin Exterminating must follow the label restrictions on termiticides, therefore we cannot properly re-treat a structure with standing water and/or a crawl space that is continuously flooded (please see attached graph and photos).
