Be very wary of dealing with this company I received a stucco bid which seemed quite reasonable After that, there was very little communication but eventually scaffolding was erected After a week, I called the company; I was told by [redacted] (the head of the company) that his license had recently expired and that he could not get a permit until he finished five houses and had them inspected However, I could call Regional Building and obtain a Homeowner's Permit Luckily, Regional Building protects the consumer Their agent told me that his license expired in and there was no such thing as a "five house rule," for renewal She also instructed me that obtaining a Homeowner's Permit is a very bad idea The homeowner becomes totally responsible for the project If it fails to pass inspection, the homeowner is responsible for correcting the work to obtain a passing inspection Obviously, this puts no onus on the company and could cost the homeowner in addition to the unsatisfactory work I would never deal with this company again The owner appears to be reasonable and eager for the work but does not hesitate to lie to the client He also fails to keep the client informed of the status of the project [redacted] proves once again to be true
Be very wary of dealing with this company. I received a stucco bid which seemed quite reasonable. After that, there was very little communication but eventually scaffolding was erected. After a week, I called the company; I was told by [redacted] (the head of the company) that his license had recently expired and that he could not get a permit until he finished five houses and had them inspected. However, I could call Regional Building and obtain a Homeowner's Permit.
Luckily, Regional Building protects the consumer. Their agent told me that his license expired in 2010 and there was no such thing as a "five house rule," for renewal. She also instructed me that obtaining a Homeowner's Permit is a very bad idea. The homeowner becomes totally responsible for the project. If it fails to pass inspection, the homeowner is responsible for correcting the work to obtain a passing inspection. Obviously, this puts no onus on the company and could cost the homeowner in addition to the unsatisfactory work.
I would never deal with this company again. The owner appears to be reasonable and eager for the work but does not hesitate to lie to the client. He also fails to keep the client informed of the status of the project. [redacted] proves once again to be true.
