Dear Mr. [redacted] ,According to our records, you were quoted a half-day charge of $114.50 (+tax) at 12:29PM on your scheduled day of departure (4/26/15). This was already 29 minutes past our generous check-out time of 12:00PM, and an even further allowance was made until 1:00PM. When you... did not check out until 2:00PM, the half day charge was assessed as originally discussed. Please find attached your signed registration card, where you agreed to the following statement: "Possessions may be removed from the room and fees charged for failure to pay or check-out on-time on departure date shown". I was not quoted any amount of money during the phone call, instead I was asked if I needed help with my luggageThis appears to not have been documentedThe "notes" appear to be self-serving Nonetheless, my original complaint stands, I was not told the urgency or finality of staying longer would result in a chargeInstead, I was asked for help and I communicated when I would be leavingIf the hotel individuals made clear to say, "You have five/ten/fifteen minutes to leave before I will have to charge you" I would have understood the urgencyMore over, the notation that I was quoted a specific price on the call is pure fabricationI communicated that I was going to be another minutes, at that time, it was necessary for the hotel to tell me that I would be incurring a half-day rate, I would have not left when I did and instead stayed for the full duration of what I was being chargedIt actually makes no sense for me to leave when I "knew" that my card was being charged for a half day rateI certainly didn't know that there was further "generous allowances being made" until 1pm, I would have prepared my belongings faster to leaveIt defies logic why I would knowingly incur a half day rate and leave an hour into it.
I will agree to pay for the extra hour that I incurred, but not the half day rate

Mr***,Our original responds stands You signed a registration card agreeing to incur fees if you did not check out as scheduled In this case 'half-day charge' and 'late check out fee' have been used synonymously and are not literal; if you had stayed any past 2pm, a full day's charge would have been incurred, as our housekeeping staff would have been unable to clean the room for it to be used again that night I don't imagine your future travel plans will bring you back to our property, but please do keep this incident in mind during your future hotel stays.Regards,*** ***General ManagerMarQueen Hotel
