In an effort to resolve the concerns of the complaint Market Ready will issue a reimbursement of the original approved work order amount as requested by current home owner in email dated December 28, 2017;""Is there no reimbursement for work that was done already?"Dan V [redacted] Controller Market Rea

Hi,I would like to reopen my complaint I had previously filed against MarketReadyMy complaint number is [redacted] The original complaint was that MarketReady would not answer me regarding the chimney cap they had installed that had been leakingThey finally did follow back up with me and replaced the cap, which is why the complaint was resolvedHowever, I had a chimney company come out and inspect my chimney in the fall to make sure it was safe to useThey informed me that the cap was not installed correctly and that it was a fire hazard if I were to use the fireplaceThey also found that the top piece of pipe had blown off with the original cap and in order to make the fireplace fully functional it would need to be replaced as wellThe problem is that the company that made my fireplace went bankrupt and was bought up by another company, and parts for this system are no longer producedThis means the whole system would need to be replaced, which is around $5000-$6000, as quoted from the chimney company I usedI bought this home back in March of The original cap was currently not on the house, but we asked the owners to have the cap replaced as a remedy before we signed the closing papersThe previous owners/realtor are the ones who hired MarketReady to do this workMy issue is that had MarketReady known what they were doing from the beginning they would have discovered this problem and I could have worked something out with the previous owners before closingI contacted MarketReady about this and they sent Mark out to look at the capMark made the comment that they should have never taken on a job like this in the first place because they are not certified for chimney workThey had me send them the quote I had received from the chimney company and emailed me back and said that they could not do a replacement fireplace for any cheaper. If you need any further information please feel free to email me back, or to call me at ###-###-####.Thanks,

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me

We have contacted the customer and the issue with his chimney cap will be resolved on September 8, as this is the first date that the customer will be available The initial work uncovered issues that required a new cap that had to be special ordered and required fabrication The new cap
took longer than expected to be completed and will arrive this week to be installed September

Hi,I would like to reopen my complaint I had previously filed against MarketReady. My complaint number is [redacted]. The original complaint was that MarketReady would not answer me regarding the chimney cap they had installed that had been leaking. They finally did follow back up with me and replaced the cap, which is why the complaint was resolved. However, I had a chimney company come out and inspect my chimney in the fall to make sure it was safe to use. They informed me that the cap was not installed correctly and that it was a fire hazard if I were to use the fireplace. They also found that the top piece of pipe had blown off with the original cap and in order to make the fireplace fully functional it would need to be replaced as well. The problem is that the company that made my fireplace went bankrupt and was bought up by another company, and parts for this system are no longer produced. This means the whole system would need to be replaced, which is around $5000-$6000, as quoted from the chimney company I used. I bought this home back in March of 2017. The original cap was currently not on the house, but we asked the owners to have the cap replaced as a remedy before we signed the closing papers. The previous owners/realtor are the ones who hired MarketReady to do this work. My issue is that had MarketReady known what they were doing from the beginning they would have discovered this problem and I could have worked something out with the previous owners before closing. I contacted MarketReady about this and they sent Mark out to look at the cap. Mark made the comment that they should have never taken on a job like this in the first place because they are not certified for chimney work. They had me send them the quote I had received from the chimney company and emailed me back and said that they could not do a replacement fireplace for any cheaper. If you need any further information please feel free to email me back, or to call me at ###-###-####.Thanks,
