received related to the refund process regarding Ms. [redacted]’s Maple Grove account. A review of the account has been completed. The refund was requested on 10/11/17 after a call was received by Ms. [redacted] alerting us to the overpayment that had applied. This initiated the refund process and Ms. [redacted] was advised refunds can take up to 30 days to process. The refund was approved and applied back to the original credit card on 11/07/17. The actual release of funds to the credit card will be determined by Ms. [redacted]’s financial institution. Maple Grove Hospital does have an internal workflow for the processing of refunds. This process does need to pass through different channels for review and approval. Additionally, there are outside payment vendors that have to be communicated with to complete these approvals. While Maple Grove is looking into process improvements to create more efficient timelines and customer satisfaction, all of these items should be taken into consideration in regards to the overall process.
