Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
We followed the carriers instruction to provide final delivery address and delivery date 2 weeks prior to delivery. No destination was set until I called on 8/8/16 and provided the final address. The goods could not have gotten shipped prior to this date, since the destination was not set. Again, this means our shipment was shipped without notice.
Sincerely,[redacted]

We have spoken to the carrier who performed the move about the customer's refund and were informed that  on August 29, the carrier had informed the customer that he was going to send him a release form that needed to be signed. He told the customer that once he received the signed release, he would mail the refund check out to him. The carrier only just received the signature a couple of days ago, on 9/14, the same day the customer rejected the last Revdex.com response. He is going to mail the check for $409.50 out to the customer on Monday/Tuesday of this coming week. We are still here to aid the customer in any further issues that they may have and advise them to contact us directly to our office line for any assistance.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: This is my money of $ 500.00, and I never use that money for the move as I didn't move to [redacted], This is nothing to do with the contract. .they already postponed the move on my request and finally I decided not to move. Their responsibility is to refund money as my move date is more than 15 days when I requested to cancel it. They are trying to steel my money, I read about the reviews after this thing happened to me . They have done lot of bad things to the customers and this company has stole people's money as well as over charged for the move. You have to take action about this company. And one person told they have threatened her to remove the complaint
Sincerely,[redacted]

At Map Systems, Inc, we try our best to address our customers' concerns prior, during, and after their long distance move. We do apologize to Mr. [redacted] for an extended delivery schedule. However in regards to the delivery of items, we cannot guarantee a specific delivery date and can only contact...

the carrier en route for an estimated delivery date of shipments. Keep in mind that because these are long distance, cross-country moves, anything from delayed or changed routes, to shared trucks, to weather and DOT inspections can delay shipments from reaching their final destinations at the customers' desired times. While we have tried to reach the carrier for this route on several occasions, we have also not been able to get accurate delivery estimates and do understand the frustration that this may have caused Mr. [redacted]. We have finally received an accurate delivery date from the carrier. The truck is en route and Mr. [redacted]'s items will be delivered between tomorrow (7/6/16) and the next day (7/7/16). We were also made aware from the carrier directly that the customer, Mr. [redacted], signed a First Delivery Date form upon pick-up that not only instructed the carrier of the customer's first available delivery date of (6/15/16) but also informed the customer that the carrier can take up to 30 business days starting from that first available date to deliver the items. The customer agreed to the form and signed. So while the delays may be an inconvenience to the customer, the carrier was well within contract for this delivery. Regardless, we are still here to aid the customer with any questions or concerns that they may have towards the carrier about their move and we encourage them to reach out to our office directly to help them address those concerns. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience to the customer and his family. We look forward to continue helping him with this dilemma further and appreciate the patience and cooperation on his behalf.

We apologize for the inconveniences to this customer. However, our customer care department has addressed his concerns and has provided a breakdown of the paperwork for the entire move that we received from the carrier after the job was completed. Below is the breakdown that was emailed to the...

customer once we reviewed the paperwork for any overages. The customer also did not reach out to us with these concerns until 8/17/16, when the items were going to be delivered. At that point, the Bill of Lading and charges were already signed and agreed upon between the customer and the carrier performing the move, so no discount or price intervention could be provided for him on his behalf. If we were called during pick-up with these concerns, we could have intervened and worked with the carrier for a discount to provide to the customer even if there were additional items on his inventory list that were not on the original paperwork. Below is the breakdown of the charges. Clearly with over 50 items more than the original estimate, the customer had legitimate overages that were charged accordingly to the contract that the customer signed.
"On your original estimate with Map Systems, we were informed of only 48 total items; 25 of which were boxes. On your paperwork from pick up, you have a total of 102 items; 65 of which are boxes(53 boxes, 4 picture boxes, 4 wardrobe boxes and 4 plastic bins). You have over double the amount of items that we were informed. You signed off on the Bill of Lading, the revised estimate as well as all three (3) of the inventory lists. You were picked up on 8/12(Fri) and we received no phone call in regards to your overages. You did not reach out to us until Wed 8/17. I did review all of your paperwork and I have listed your charges below. You had 469 additional CF @ $2.73 = $1,280.37Additional Fuel: $89.63Long Carry Charge: $100.00Packing: $50.00Total: $1,520.00Estimate Subtotal: $2,184.63Overages: $1,520.00Total: $3,704.63MSI Discount: -$280.00 ($3,424.63)Deposit: -$500.00 ($2,924.63)1st Payment: -$2,000.00Delivery Balance: $924.63"

The customer is welcome to reach out to us if there are any further questions about the paperwork or if there are any additional concerns that we can address about the move.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
#1 - We did not have more than what our estimate laid out, which included 40 boxes and our furniture. When the estimator called us, we did not need to outline or request additional space, because we packed what the estimate required of us.
#2 - We refused the discount because $250 is only a small dent in the, ultimately $2,000 more that was charged to us. And we had been told that Map Systems was "figuring it out" and working on this matter while the move was taking place. They told us this on four to five separate occasions. Therefore, when the movers showed up with out belongings, we expected that they would have a solution for us.
#3 - We were told that the companies were "figuring it out" and waited with the movers while this happened. It took them hours to discuss the matter, with various carriers and third-parties fighting while we stood by and waited. At the end of the day, we were so exhausted, we relented to paying the $2,000 more.
The carrier demanded cash, which we didn't have on-hand, and when that happened, they drove away. They came back the next day and said the re-delivery fee would not be included in what we owe them.
After countless back and forth between various moving companies, which were contracted by Map Systems, our move ended up costing $2000 more than the estimate. Regards,[redacted]

This customer made a reservation with us and then later cancelled the move and refused services on the day of pick-up after having signed our contract agreeing to the cancellation policy and having been on the phone with our representative for more than 4 hours in reading the agreement in its...

entirety. She agreed to the terms and conditions and we proceeded with dispatching her truck. Because of the last minute nature of her move, she was thoroughly explained and understood the cancellation policy. Because of the last minute cancellation and refusal of services, she is not eligible for a refund.

Dear [redacted],

Here is the note I sent on to the US Department of Transportation yesterday.
I have NOT heard from Map Systems whatsoever with regard to rectifying this.
They have no right to simply extort and manipulate people and get away with it.  -I am simply asking for a refund.
Thank you,

September 26, 2016
Dear US Department of Transportation,
Since September 9th 2016 submission of my complaint letter to both Map Systems, Inc (Montana/New Jersey) and 5 Star Relocation (California), I have made no headway with reaching an amicable solution regarding their services rendered during a cross country move in July of this year.
The following immediate pages are responses (or lack thereof) from the businesses through the Revdex.com.  I have received a call from 5 Star Relocation in which they indicated they would see what they could do to help me – but, I am still not finding any evidence of making me and my family whole from their and Map Systems. Inc extortion and manipulation.  Please see file attached.  Map Systems, Inc. has been rude and has not even offered to help in anyway outside of pointing fingers at the other companies involved.
I would be deeply grateful to you if you can help my wife and I (and family) recover from broken and lost valuable items and from paying an outrageous moving fee.  In addition, I also am wondering how my story might help you find ways to better oversee these type of operations.
Please help.
Thank you,
[redacted] Jr.
