As a client, going on 3 years at Magnolia Women's Health I strongly encourage others to stay away from this practice! Sitting for a scheduled appointment for 45 minutes to hear the nurse verbalize "forgetting about me" and once aware of this continuing her casual conversation with the receptionist was terribly unprofessional and wrong. When I was finally called back and I asked about this and the nurse was defensive and rude toward me telling me SHE did not feel I was waiting long, it was shocking. I had taken a half day off from work and found child care for my son not to sit in the patient waiting room, now knowing full well by her own admission she had forgotten I was there. To think, this is my health care provider who I am to TRUST and feel COMFORTABLE with, who forgets me, then insults me. This became the behavior of all in the practice as I sought the next person to speak to regarding this situation. In an attempt to contact the owner/operator I needed to leave 4 messages with her over 10 business days. Finally returning my call (she was sure to tell me she was on vacation). While that is totally acceptable I needed to call her for a 4th time knowing she had been back to work for 4 business days. She had no intention of calling me back, she was rude, irresponsible and did not display the behavior or practice of a professional. Additionally, I was "instructed" by her that I had 3 minutes of her time and in a sarcastic and demeaning tone addressing me as "sweetheart."
This is just a snapshot of the unfortunate and offensive experience I had. This practice has evolved and NOT for the better. It is pathetic, unprofessional, and an embarrassment to the care of women's health. As a public educator I will be sure to share this story with all I can so that they can avoid this practice. Additionally, having a mother who was a nurse in the greater Raleigh area for over 30 years the staff at Magnolia Women's Health, on a whole, puts the nursing and care giver profession to a pitiful shame.
