Review: I recently have been in touch with a gentleman named [redacted]. He owns his own photography studio in Spring Valley, WI called [redacted] Photography.
I called him a few months ago setting our date for him to do our wedding photos on August 2, 2014. He had the day open, so he stated he would put us down in his book. Once you set the date, they require a $300 retainer that reserves our wedding date. They received it on 4/7/13.
A couple weeks ago, we did our engagement photo session with [redacted]. After he sent us our photos, we were not satisfied with the images. We contacted [redacted] and stated we were not satisfied, and that we found a photographer that fits us more. We are asking for our $300.00 dollars back since we were not satisfied with the engagement session.
[redacted] refuses to give us our $300.00 because he says that his contract states that the $300.00 is nonrefundable. But we never signed a contract with [redacted]. He has no contract, therefor he can not hold our $300.00. His website also mentions that there is a retainer fee of $300.00, but it does not mention nonrefundable. When we confirmed the date, he never mentioned over the phone that it was non refundable either.
We've been emailing back and forth, and [redacted] won't acknowledge the fact that he doesn't have my signature on a contract. He stated I made a "commitment." That is not a contract.Desired Settlement: We would like our $300.00 back. As soon as possible.

Response:
This correspondence is in regard to ID [redacted].
I believe this is my first contact with the Revdex.com after over 30 years in business and 14,000 client transactions.
Please find enclosed a copy of correspondence I sent [redacted] and [redacted]. I believe it clearly and accurately
presents my feelings on this matter.
[redacted] and family are familiar with [redacted] Photography. I had previously photographed [redacted] and her
sisters high school senior portraits. [redacted]'s father [redacted] is owner of our small town grocery store, and I see and
speak with him nearly every day. About a year ago [redacted] mentioned [redacted]'s up coming wedding. I gave him
one of the "$995 WEDDING SPECIAL" cards to give to [redacted]. April 2, 2013 [redacted] telephoned me, we talked
about the $995 wedding special. She gave me her infonnation and I entered it in the schedule book. I received
her $300.00 retainer on 417113. She telephoned me and scheduled their engagement session for Sunday,
October 13,2013. I photographed their engagement session on October 13th. At the end of this session, as I
always do, I asked if there anything else you want? Their reply of, "No, I think we are good." We shook hands
and they left. October 15,2013 I received an email from [redacted] saying, "We decided to go with someone else to
take our wedding photos." I was never given the opportunity to create additional images, or requested to lower
the price point.
I have enclosed several 4 "x6" sample proofs of their engagement session. These are just a few of the more than
80 images captured. After viewing these, [redacted] feels my work does not meet her expectations.
I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years. I have personally photographer over 1,500
Weddings. Our studio has photographed over 3,000 weddings. I have been awarded countless regional, state,
national and International awards. Within the last year my work was featured on "Good Morning America"
national television. So, when someone feels my work does not meet their expectations, when they made NO
requests for style, poses, etc. I give this VERY, VERY serious attention.
We had a legal verbal contract. [redacted] broke the contract. [redacted] paid a retainer. Deposits and down payments
are refundable, retainers are not.
Sincerely,
~~
