Luxury Auto of Great Neck Reviews (25)

Review: I fiance a car from Luxury Auto of Great Neck on 7/**/2014 the salesman seemed like a ok guy we stroke a deal I put $3k down and on a $20k car which made my purchase 17k but at the end I got it for $19k so I figured taxes etc whatever but when I checked with the auto loan company about why do I owe $22k they told me dealer change $2100 dollars for a option that my car does not have and 210 dollars for miles? which added $2300 dollars to my loan so I was financing $22k ..now why I am I being charged for options that are not installed in my car and if I even had that option how can you charge me for it when its a used car.

I also find out it was involved in accident which the dealer never told me until I already had the car and look it up on carfax he responded to me to say it drives straight right? well that's not the point im concern about resale value so a few phone calls later he offered me another car since I wasn't happy with a car that had a accident report on it but didn't want or like that one so I decided that I decide to live with but not the extra $2300 dollars on my loanDesired Settlement: I want a refund of either $2300 or take it of my loan.

Review: I purchased a 2007 [redacted] 650 I from Luxury Auto of Great Neck on 10/**/14. I also purchased an extended two year warranty. I was told that the vehicle had a 60 day warranty and if anything happened during that time that I could bring the vehicle back to Luxury Autos and the issue would be resolved. After approximately three weeks I had an issue with the check oil message being displayed. I informed the salesperson I was told to add oil and if I continued to have the issue to bring the car in. I added oil and the issue was resolved for about three weeks when the warning light appeared again. I decided to take the car in on 11/**/14. On 11/**/14 the warning light did not appear. I drove the car to ** from ** during the trip there was a message indicating that there was an issue with the steering fluid / hydraulic system. Upon investigation a rest stop mechanic stated that it appeared that the drive belt was in contact with the power steering hose which caused a hole in the hose, causing the hose to leak fluid over the belts and engine. I immediately notified the [redacted] at Luxury Auto. He told me that he saw in my records that I had that I had the extended warranty but the warranty company was closed due to it being a holiday weekend. He told me that Luxury Auto would not pay for a tow. I was left stranded. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest [redacted] dealership. I was then informed by [redacted] that the vehicle warranty company had no record of my account. The warranty company did not receive the paperwork until 12/*/14 via next day mail. The car sat for a week at the dealership because the warranty was not submitted in a timely fashion. at this point in time 12/*/14, the car is at the dealership. the cost for repairs is $1075. I am arranging to have the car towed until I can resolve the issue. The warranty does not cover the belts or hoses. From the initial date of 11/**/14 I have received no assistance from Luxury Auto. I have been deceived by just about everyone that I've spoken to at Luxury Auto. I have made several attempts to get assistance. I have left several messages for the manager to return my calls but to no avail. I have been placed on hold for twenty minutes and no one got back to me. I have been told that the manager was there and then my call was directed to an answering machine. I have been hung up on several times.

This is my primary issue. There are other issues such as the paperwork for the plates being lost and resulting in me receiving the plates on 12/*/14. I was pulled over three times and warned by the police because the in transit plate was expired. I was supposed to receive a DVD for the navigation system as well as the owners manual which I still haven't received.Desired Settlement: It has become overwhelmingly obvious to me that Luxury Auto is not the type of establishment that I want to continue to do business with. I would like a full refund of all the money that I spent on the car as well as the money that I spent for the and will spend due to the car breaking down.

Response:

Luxury Autos fully understands [redacted]'s frustration. Unfortunately, hoses and belts are not covered items under any vehicle warranty as they are considered maintenance items. However, [redacted] does have a premium vehicle warranty which covers extensive mechanical issues. The customer also feels that Luxury Autos should pay for the towing expense but [redacted]'s warranty includes coverage for vehicle towing. I have personally spoken to [redacted] and explained all of this to him. We feel confident that this vehicle will serve him well even though he experienced a breakdown early on in his ownership. We apologize for any inconvenience [redacted] has experienced.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Hereas stated in the original complaint, the paperwork for the warranty was not submitted in a timely fashion. At least 6 weeks after buying the warranty the warranty company had not received it. I was not in the system when I needed a tow. I had to pay out of pocket due to Luxury Auto not submitting paperwork to the warranty company. Luxury Auto did not submit the warranty until after I contacted them with the issue. Also the vehicle was in the shop

Review: I had bought a used car from the dealer. It was already modified and they sold me basic warranty them knowing it would never be covered in any mechanical problems. My car has been down for more then 3 months now they haven't tried to help. The car has a internal motor problem. I've only had the car for 5 months or so.Desired Settlement: I would like them to give me a replacement or atleast for them to pay the car off so I could I get out of this situation.

[redacted] purchased this 2012 subaru WRX STI in August of 2013. It was a well maintained, low mileage vehicle. This type of vehicle tends to be driven harder than the everyday vehicle. This is a high performance car, usually purchased by younger drivers because of its speed and performance ability. This car was purchased by [redacted] for his son's use. At this point in time we would not be in any position to assist with a mechanical repair on a vehicle that was delivered 9 months ago. We have no way of knowing how the car was driven during that time.

I have brought the car several time to the dealer ship for the check engine light being on and the car running lean which they did nothing for way before all this just a few months buying the car and told me it was just a wire messing with the sensor and even after that I brought it back to them and they sent me to a different mechanic in [redacted] who wouldn't work on my car cause of there bad business with the guy and because the warranty they sold me wouldn't cover the modification.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Luxury Auto of Great Neck regarding complaint ID [redacted].Nothing has been done, they lied about selling me the car in 2013 when I had bought the car in 2014. Clearly they sold me a lemon and they do not want to resolve it Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I purchased a car for Luxury Car of Great Neck, they mislead, did make me aware, did not publish, nor disclose that they charge a $895.00 fee from "selling the car, advertising, new tires" as I was told by [redacted] was the salesperson that that I worked with until the financing part came into play neither one of these individuals made me aware of this fee, nor is it disclosed on the vehicle or the advertising for the car (I have copies). I was also charge a $300 transit fee??? I also gave them a $3000 deposit on the car but the itemized bill of sale only shows $2700.00. They also overcharged me by $100.00 [redacted] admitted to the lender (Wells Fargo) underwriter ([redacted]) that I be receiving a refund.Desired Settlement: I was want to be refund $895.00 fee and the $100 overcharge

This matter is settled.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

To date I have not receive the $450 check, nor have I received the registration for the car. Also two other issues have arisen with my purchased from this dealership. Currently the car is dripping raw gasoline from the gas tank and the front thrust bushing are loose. This DOES NOT pass safety inspection. I've taken the car to Fort Washington Mercedes Benz for a fee of $125.00 and they estimate the repairs at $3600.00. In all fairness, I feel that the repairs can be done cheaper and I have found a company local to me that would do the repairs for $1600.00. I spoke with [redacted] (my salesperson) and there is an expectation that I drive this car that is leaking gas 90 miles or 2.5 hours to [redacted]. Which I feel is not the responsible thing to do nor is there a concern for my safety. I'm only looking to be reimbursed the fee to make this car road worthy and inspectable. I'm asking for the additional $1600.00 be refunded to me or the repair company, so I don't have to jeopardize my life and the life’s of others.

Review: So after weeks of looking, I found a car I want and when I came to pick it up the dealer refuse to let me buy the car because I asked to MANY QUESTIONS about the condition of the car.

It started with me visiting the dealership with a relative to find out more information about the car. Frank, the sales rep showed me the car and told me that I can take the car off the lot today but refused to give me any more information about the car. After asking several times, he finally gave me a car fax but the information was doc. I think asked if there were any accidents on the car since the car fax that he handed over didn't show any information on it which he said, there is no way of finding that information out. We have no other record on this car but it's in mint condition.

I really liked the car so I told him I would come back the following day to test drive it with a mechanic and I also wanted to do my car fax report on the car. After doing my own carfax I noticed the that mileage of the car was off by a few mins as well as TWO accidents reported on the car. They failed to tell me that info and after I mentioned it to then, they agreed to drop the price of the car and fix the wheel alignment and the car idle that my mechanic mentioned being fixed. I then gave my deposit and told them I would be back with a check to pick up the car.

The day I came to pick up the car, I asked about the wheel alignment if it was set as well as if the idle/tune up was fix which he said it was. I looked at the idle and noticed it wasn't fix, so I asked about it. [redacted] then notified me that we don't do tune ups and the car was fine. I said fine and gave him my check. Two mins later he told me they didn't want to sell me the car cause I was asking to many questions about the condition of the car.

I then asked to talk to [redacted] which he said that he's been in the business for 20 years and he thinks that selling me the car would cause him grief since I didn't pay the asking price and also saying he can sell the car to someone else stupid enough to buy it. He also mentioned that I was to throu with the car and I should go to Honda dealership if I wanted a car. I went thru all the paperwork, signed off everything then the last second, he said he refused to take my check from the back.

FYI, the bank place a disclaimer on the check saying the dealership is responsible for any repairs that needed to be done on the car. I paid 45 dollars on a car fax, parts and insurance only for them to deny me service simply cause I asked about the conditions of the car and what works as been done on it for reference. They were completely unprofessional and unreasonable and had be begging to buy the car cause I needed it for work tomorrow which he still refused to sell it to me cause he said he knows "People Like ME".

He said I was asking to many questions about the car and the conditions of it and I would bring grief to them because of me asking a simple questions.Desired Settlement: I want the car they promised to sell me with no issues with the car. As well as an apology!!

Response:

Unfortunately, Luxury Autos does not feel we can meet this customer's needs. This particular vehicle has minor issues that we do not feel need be addressed at this time. Rather than have a disappointed customer down the road, we declined the sale and issued a full refund of [redacted]'s deposit. We suggested another reputable dealership to visit in an attempt to assist [redacted] with her vehicle search. We wish [redacted] well.

Luxury Autos has mentioned that they didn't sell me the car because of some minor issues with the car in there response to my complaint. They never mentioned any issues with the car to begin with. They told me multple times that the car was in perfect condition. If they were honest to begin with after I asked them several times if they are any issues with the car, minor or other wise, I would understood that. If I was aware of any minor damage or wasn't promised of any issues with the car to be fixed before coming to pick the vehicle up, then once again, I wouldn't be making this complaint.

I took out a loan for this car and now because of it, my credit score has been damaged and I still have to pay the interest rate of the loan. The car I do own now has to be switched over again with insurance and plates and I now have to go to the DMV to get to plates on my car which will cost me more money. I have spent over 300 dollars just because they decided last minute not to give me the car because they were dishonest and trying to scam me with now I know as to be a damaged car.
