Car towed to shop March 28. No date available for our car repair to be completed. We've called and no idea f date available?
Our 2012 Chevy Cruze was running hot. My husband had the car towed. They told us they'd call us with estimate. We're told the heads got warped? The care never overheated nor did fluid leak out anywhere? He estimate is $3500 to fix Hey also said they didn't he the right tool and it was in a machine shop. We have had to call them every Monday since to keep being told the car won't be ready till Friday. It's been over three weeks now They day they took a week to analyze the engine and its now going on it's 3rd week. We want a completion date for our vehicle. It appears to be costing twice any reasonable estimates when researched on line. Also we asked for the shop that's icing the heads and they won't give us their name to let us call them if they are behind the delay . We need our car my husbands disabled and I'm retired. We are sing our Rv for doctors appointments and transportation now.
We want our car back as we agreed to pay their repair estimate . Or give us our vehicle to go somewhere else more qualified. They claim machine shop is understaffed that's not our problem use another shop!
The car was finally fixed
But we told them we'd never use them again . They offered us a rental a day before we picked it up ï''

Work was begun on our vehicle without permission from the legal owners. My daughter uses the car for college but is not the legal owner of the car. She took the car to LP & Sons. When they began to take the engine apart they explained to my daughter that they were going to take the engine apart clean all of the parts and rebuild the engine and she would have a car that would be like new. They called to get permission to do certain things each time saying they found more wrong with the car that needed to be fixed but they never called for permission to begin the work or to explain to us as the owners what was being done. I gave permission for them to fix the car. They took so long to complete the repairs we had to leave it over winter break. Luis the owner even offered to bring the car to Maryland. When my daughter returned to pick up the car mid January LP& Son had put almost one hundred miles on the car. Not even two months after getting the car and with 800 miles put on the car the engine blew again. LP & Sons refused to accept any responsibility saying that the part of the engine with the problem was not something they had worked on when in fact the part of the engine that had blown was in the top of the engine which they would have had to get to before taking the rest of the engine apart to fix. What was offered to us was that they were willing to install a used 4 cylinder engine for $800.00 and half price on labor. Our car is 6 cylinders and we found that unacceptable. Another similar offer was made which was also unacceptable. The final offer that was made to us was to install a 4 cylinder rebuilt Infineon for $400.00 with no labor charges. That offer was made after we told the owner we would be contacting the Revdex.com. We had another mechanic look at the car and say a new engine was not needed to correct the situation and that he believed the current problems with the car were due to improper original diagnosis and repair. The work done did not fix the problem.

Refund I would have been happy with a correct repair from LP & Sons but because they have proved to be dishonest I would like a partial to full refund because they did not honor the year warranty given for services preformed and they have repeatedly lied about what the problem with the car is and they were only willing to work with me upon hearing that action would be taken with the Revdex.com.
on December 12/16/2018 Ms *** vehicle broke down behind my shop, we inspected the vehicle and notice engine with excessive sludge and no oil on the heads,we did a full inspection of the Engine and found the engine was not pumping oil and all the oil was sitting on the lower pan. we recomended removing the engine cylinder heads and resurface them and cleaning all the engine sludge of them, we gave ms *** a estimate of the job witch she aproved by giving us $400 to start working on her vehicle, after removing the heads and lowering the engine pan we recommended additional parts, customer state that her dad will be in town and he rather be the one I talk to because she does not know anything about cars. her dad Mr. *** came over he saw the engine heads and lower engine oil pan been remove and all the oil sludge he gave us the ok to proceed and sign the new repair order, we explain to customer everything we are doing to the vehicle and at no time we mention engine rebuild because that's not what the engine needed and we do not rebuild engines they both understood and she wrote us a check for half the cost of the repair as an advance. MR. came from Maryland to help her daughter drive back home for Christmas winter break and that they cannot wait for the car to be repair and her daughter will pick it up when she comes back for school, I did offer to take the vehicle back to them because I was driving back to NYC witch they decline and stated that they rather leave the car here so she does not have to drive back from MD.
when the repair was done with did put about 100 miles in the vehicle so we can make sure the work we did was good. two months later about 1000k miles of driving the vehicle, customer brings the vehicle back to the shop due to knocking noise, we inspect the engine and let her know the Block of the engine took an unforeseeable failure and is recommended to replace the entire engine instead of repair it due to cost of repair, since customer already spend a lot of money to repair the vehicle and to take such a loss at a loss of a unforseeable failure of the engine I offer to replace the engine with a used or remanufactured same size engine at no labor cost, just parts witch we found a used engine for $800 customer decline due to not having enough funds for such repair.
customer was not happy with the results and what happened to vehicle's engine and treating us to contact Revdex.com, we guarantee and stay behind our work but we cannot guaranteed a repair on something we did not repair or fix, we resurface the engine heads, performed engine flush, water pump, spark plugs, oil pressure switch and sensor, headgasket and heater elbow.at no time we touch the engine block.
we have all sign documents in file from MR *** and his daugther Ms *** signing all work before starting repair and 2 sign checks for repair.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept this response due to a number of reasons. One reason being that my engine is a six cylinder engine and the replacement offered was a four cylinder engine. Another reason being that I spent over $3,700 on the repairs and based on the unsatisfactory repair that I received, I did not trust LP& Sons to further service my vehicle. There were many verbal promises and explanations made to us about the car, one of them being that the engine would be like new after being cleaned and repaired. If this were the case then the car would not be out of service again after less than 1,000 miles. Due to these reasons we believe that the repair services from LP&sons were faulty. Please see the attached document for a second opinion from a reputable mechanic.
I was asked to take a look at the 1998 Chevrolet Camaro because they were having problems with it after having quite a bit of work done to it by LP & Sons here in Deland, Florida
From the description of the engine seizing, I looked and listened to the car after all the work was done.
It is my opinion that LP & Sons was negligent in telling the *** family all that was going on with the car and what could still happen to it after they approved them to do all the work.
The engine seized due to a lack of oil. They knew this was the issue because they replaced numerous parts like the Oil Pump, Oil Pan gasket, and others. All the work they did to the engine was due to the lack of oil and the damage that did.
According to the description of work done, no where do they state anything that the engine bearings could have been damaged from the lack of oil. This is something that I would of checked immediately, as it almost a given problem and can cause major issues.
Due to the age & mileage on this car, and again, lack of oil to the engine, checking the engine bearings should have been done but wasn't. In my opinion, it is because they missed this that ***'s are now having a knocking noise in the engine (caused by the damaged engine bearings) and can no longer drive the car safely.
From what I understand, LP & Sonds never advised the ***'s that because of the lack of oil to the engine that there is a high possibility to other problems beyond what they worked on. This is something that should have been told to them so that they would be aware and have as much information as possible about the car.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions

As we stated in the previous responce we stand behind our warranty 100% and offer the customer alternate solution and customer decline, customer lied about who aprove or not aprove work, when customer came to our shop we told customer the problem and that it might be a better idea to buy a new or used car but according to customer it was dauther first car and had an attatchment to it and rather fix it, we have proof in file and video from that Day of customer/owner and daughter been in the shop. also as per the technician that check after our work should know a vehicle with that aged and lock of proper care and maintenance anything can happend, customer neglected the vehicle proper schedule maintenance that cause engine zeise and other major repairs as driving for a while braking metal to metal etc.. what happend to her Enigine block was a unforeseen damage due to aged and mostly lock or proper schedule maintenance, again we did not rebuild the block head of the vehicle just replace necessary parts and resurface the heads and flush engine of excessive sludge.
