I bought a certified preowned 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. I recently found out it's been wrecked and the dealership will not buy back the car.
I bought the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse on 10-23-17. VIN:***XXXXXX I had to take the car in on 10-25-17 to replace the trim on the left rear door because it started to come off. On 10-27-17 I went to get in my car to go to work and the door wouldnt unlock or open from the outside or inside. I had to crawl over the center console from the passenger side to get in. I took it to GMC that day. They called me and told me it was fixed that day. I picked it up, went to a store, got out and when I came back out to get in, the same thing happened. I brought it back, they kept it all weekend. I picked it up Monday 10-30-17.All seemed to be working. I had to take it in 11-10-17 to finally have the trim replaced that had been ordered on 10-25-17.When I asked why I was never called sooner about the trim (I was told it would take about 3 days to get the trim in and fixed) Ben informed me that the first piece came in but the box was damaged and the trim piece was damaged so they had to order another one. But they didn't feel like they should call and let me know that. I called 11-3-17 asking about the trim and was told it was in but Ben would call me on 11-4-17 to set up an appointment for me to bring it in. I never got a call. I called on 11-7-17 and spoke to Ben who told me the piece came in 11-6-17 and he had plans to call me 11-7-17 or 11-8-17 to schedule my appointment to come get it fixed. That is awful service. Especially since I brought it to them 2 days after I bought the car telling them of the trim situation. I left for Tennessee the night of 11-10-17. When I got to my hotel, the door did the same thing again. It wouldn't open or unlock or anything. I called LOVE and they told me to bring it in again. I told them I was out of town and couldn't at the time. I took it to Volunteer Chevrolet in Seveirville TN. They told me the door panel had not even been put back on properly and the door lock had been trimmed down with a knife or something, to try and force the door luck to go up and down, because apparently LOVE couldn't figure out the problem, so they just trimmed my actual door lock, which could potentially be a safety hazard. You can see plain as day, that the door lock has been trimmed down. The frame weatherstripping for the left rear door was torn. They did not have the parts in stock to fix my car, so I had to leave with a broken door again and drive home to SC. Then on Wednesday 11-15-17 I had a body shop technician look at my car. They told me to return it back to LOVE, because it had been wrecked and someone had tried to fix it, but did an awful job with the paint, the sanding, the clear coat. There were ripples in the frame. It was rough from the top coat spray they did. I called LOVE and they told me that since it wasnt on the CARFAX they had no way of knowing so all I could do was trade it in on something else. Ive had such terrible service, I don't want to buy another car or have to settle on something that I don't really want, because they sold me a bad car. But since they certified this car, they should have noticed all of the issues with the car in the first place, and never sold it or at least notated that it had been wrecked.
I think LOVE should buy back this car from me and not force me to trade it in on something else from them or something that I may not really want.
I will have the Finance Manager, Lee W reach out to the customer and return all of her money (assuming it is in the same condition as it was when the customer purchased it) once the vehicle is back in our possession. I believe that there is a loan, so I will likely have to have the money routed directly to the lienholder. The customer can return the car to us today.
