There was no equipment malfunction in this case The patient's results from point of care testing were at the high limit of results which require confirmation via a blood draw which was not available as the lab was closed at that time Per policy and standard of care the patient was transported to the hospital where lab facilities were available The patient unfortunately did not have medical coverage for hospital services, but the services were necessary and performed appropriately We have spoken with the patient previously and explained the situation We are unable to meet the patient's request in this matter

Response:
In reviewing the facts of this complaint the patient changed insurance companies from First Choice to Aetna. In 2011 First Choice did pay the bill with a $20.00 co-pay and a $100.00 deductible. The patient paid the $100.00 deductible. According to his insurance plan with Aetna this procedure is not covered. The patient responsibility is $200.00 We find no record that this procedure was done at any other time, nor any record of a procedure with no charge associated with it.
Review: I was a patient in lourdes inpatient counseling center in 2013 for 7 days while in their center their testing for blood glucose machine was broke so they cent me to lourdes hospital to have my blood checked there. I was in full custody of the staff, they sent me with a staff member in restraints and sent us by cab, while there I waited 3 hours to see a dr. that never came they checked my blood sugar and they told me it was normal. since my visit, ive been harassed by lourdes billing department about the bill. medicaid paid for the visit and was suppose to include the bill as well but ive tried several attempts to resolve this matter and and have since turned me over to collection.Desired Settlement: I credit restored, bill sent to medicaid since they never did.
