Hospital overcharged me by $35.00 during May of 2019.
They sent a refund check in the amount of the $35.00 on
June 27, 2019. I underwent a major operation and was therefore unable to cash the check. On approximately October 3, 2019, I contacted Lourdes Medical Associates and advised them of my situation and that the check is now stale. I requested that they place a stop pay on the check and once it clears to reissue the check. The rep. refused to honor my request and advised me that the check needed to be returned and a new check will be reissued within 30 days. I returned the check the next day. After not receiving a replacement check within three and one-half months, I contacted them on January 21, 2020. The representative said that she reviewed the notes in the system and they indicated that the returned check was received but a replacement check was never issued. I questioned her as to why no refund check was issued to me almost four months late and she became very rude and defensive. She advised me that someone would call me immediately and that a refund check will be issued immediately. It is now nearly 10 days later and I have not heard from anyone and have not received the refund check.
This type of conduct is unacceptable for a hospital. I request that they send me the refund check promised four months ago.
They should be fined and have there business suspend for their unacceptable conduct. It is hospitals like this that give the medical community a very bad reputation.
