On my first visit to Louisville Behavioral Health seeing Nurse Practioner Cheryl, I had so much hopeI was soon being asked a series of questions one after the other without pauseIf I dared hesitated a second to think about my answer, it was HARSHLY asked the question differently in an insulting manner (insinuating I wasn't intelligent enough to understand)
Having been diagnosted with Bipolar years earlier after suffering a lifetime of depression and panic attacks, she stated she knew what I hadWithin minutes of talking to me she named off a disorder that I had and it wasn't BipolarShe then said that there was only medications she COULD give me for her new diagnosis and I had already taken them earlier in life with no positive resultsI told her that and informed her I wanted to try a medication I've never used beforeShe repeated she WOULD ONLY give me one of the I told her that was a waste of time and I did not want them
She got in my face, looked at me as said, Well why are you here then?" I left the office defeated and cryingI sat in my car calming myself because I was too upset to driveIn about an hour I called the Louisville Behavioral Health and told Nancy Butler my storyShe said she would investigate and call me back
Over the next weeks I was told they would not assign me to a new doctor until they had my past recordsWhen I get them my records, I was then told no doctors at Louisville Behavorial Health would see meI guess that's how they punish their psychiatric patients for expecting true and professional treatmentI had to pay for a visit that upset and indulted me and caused me emotional harm for weeks waiting for a different doctorIF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!
