Review: My fiance, [redacted] passed away on [redacted], 2014. [redacted] family had chosen Louis Suburban Chapel for his services.[redacted] was cremated on [redacted] and interred on [redacted], 2014. I was unable to attend the services, and Mr. [redacted] offered to deliver [redacted] ashes to me for a fee, which I paid in addition to half of my cost of the ashes and urns. He scheduled to deliver them to me the following week but did not show up. I called the following week and was told that "[redacted] ashes are sitting right on my desk" and that they would be delivered next week. The week came and went and still no ashes. At the four week mark, he began avoiding my calls. I have been leaving messages with the secretaries who, time and time again, ask my name, to spell[redacted] name, and the phone number Mr.[redacted] could reach me. I have in the past week explained he is avoiding my calls, and it is now two months and I am still waiting for my fiance's cremains to be returned to me. I am told by the numerous secretaries that they will "personally hand deliver" the messages to Mr.[redacted] and "make sure" he gets my message. I have yet to receive a single phone call from Mr. [redacted] and am very concerned and upset about how he is treating a deceased person's remains.Desired Settlement: I simply want my fiance's ashes. They have been paid for in full, and have no idea why he is avoiding my calls.

Response:
The following is my reply to the above mentioned complaint:
(1) the day of the service I delivered the cremains and two (2) urns to
[redacted]Paramus,NJ.
(2) When I arrived I was told that the complainant was not going to be
there for her fiance's funeral. After the service I returned to my
office with the urns and the portion of cremains which were to be
given to the complainant.
(3) the complainant never paid for anything for her fiance's funeral;
all expenses were paid by her fiance's sister. If you wish, I will
forward proof of this.
(4) As a favor to the complainant, I offered to deliver the urns and the
cremains to her in Queens,NY for no charge what so ever when I could.
(5) there was never any expressed contract by me with the complainant or
the person who paid me to deliver the urns and cremains to the complain
ant in Queens; as a favor and good will on my part, I offered at no
charge to do this when I had the opportunity and as you know the Winter
weather made this more difficult.
