The $[redacted] quote apparently did not include vacuuming and filtering the system or replacing the filter line-drier, which is necessary when doing a coil replacement. The repairs still haven't been done, but it looks like I'm going to be paying a minimum of $[redacted]. I am still trying to find cheaper quotes. I'm now hearing things as high as $[redacted] to do the complete job. I didn't understand initially that replacing the coil means replacing the line-drier and refrigerant. That puts me (at best) $[redacted] in the hole to repair the damage, counting what I paid Pefect Climate.
