Longhorn Medical called me at 10:12 today, Sunday, March 29th, about a medical bill that I still haven't received. They don't even have employees working today, so it was a recording telling me that I have a bill. I filed a complaint about this earlier, but since then I have received an automated phone call. Phone calls are not permitted regarding collections is not even permitted Sundays, except from 1 pm to 5 pm. I still haven't received anything showing me why I owe money! I have gotten several texts, including the most recent one at 7:33 a.m. on Sunday, March 29th 2020! They aren't allowed to call on Sunday unless it is between 1 and 5 p.m, and the company isn't even open on Sundays, so I can't even call to talk to a person and ask WHY??? This was a call, so I believe this is illegal
During the time of my emergency room visit I had Medicaid from the state of Colorado. The doctors group refuse to bill the state of Colorado. The hospital portion has been taken care of. I am disabled and on Medicare now and I am constantly harassed. I have documented proof from the state of Colorado who is fully aware of the situation.
Longhorn Emergency Medical Associates requires their billing to be requested thru a medical records company named ***. In violation of Texas Medical Board rules. Per the Texas Medical Board, if you request electronic delivery of records. The maximum fee is $25.00. No delivery charges are allowed. Yet Longhorn Emergency Medical Associates refuses to follow the established rules set by their governing body. and instead is charging $8.00 delivery fee + tax.
This has been brought to their attention and has not been corrected.
