Review: I've been having issues with my front door not working properly. I called the Natrona Heights locksmith company to send a tech over to fix my door. I had explained that the latch in the door was working improperly from the outside, preventing anyone even with a key to enter my house. I have an oak double door entry equipped with a brass door lock. The door lock company is Baldwin. There is a door latch and a dead bolt. I had agreed to the initial fee of $29.00 for them to send someone. I had received a phone call from the tech that he would arrive between 2:30 & 3:00pm. Around 2:50pm, I received another call from the technician, he told me he was stuck in traffic and would be late. The technician showed up around 4:00pm. After 30 minutes of taking apart the lock, tinkering, and reassembling, the technician declared the lock was broke, and was installed improperly. He also said that it was a top of the line lock. He then said I needed to call Baldwin and order parts. Then he wrote out a slip, charged me another $35.00, took cash and left. I called the company back to complain and was told I would hear back from a manager in 2-3 days. After the second day I called again and spoke to the manager. She stated that they are not insured to fix doors. She continues that, people misunderstand locksmiths. She explains that, locksmiths fix locks and not doors. The technician didn't explain what parts I need from Baldwin, because they're not insured to do that either. So I paid this company $64.00 to tell me what I already knew. My door lock is broken. After calling a second lock smith company, they stated that the first company I called didn't send a real locksmith.Desired Settlement: I clearly stated that my door needed fixed and not my lock. Knowing they were not "insured" to do the job, I'm unsure why they would send someone. If they were unable to do the job, because they didn't know how, they shouldn't have sent someone. I paid for services rendered, and only had money taken from my wallet, while my door is still broken. Therefore, since nothing was accomplished from their visit, I should not have paid.
