We were looking for straight-shooting, hard working, conscientious, high integrity, creative problem solvers (not a small wish-list). They are all that and more. Excellent communicators as well, such that we felt fully informed throughout the process. They also jumped in to solve problems created by other partners in the process, an invaluable gift.
Our situation was unusual both in terms of our complex financials as well a mini crisis created by my long term employer, a very large financial institution, who had let us down by reneging on their commitment. My entire career has been in corporate banking and finance and while it's different from the Home Mortgage business, I do understand some of the complexity in which they have to operate. They delivered for us in a super tight timeframe with a highly competitive deal. No one can complete with the likes of Loan City Morthgage.
