On December 7th I made my first payment as part of a payment arrangement for a class provided by LinuxJobber. I had been in communication with someone from the company and advised them I would like to sign up for the course to obtain a job. I also advised that I needed to complete the course in a shorter period and was advised that I would be able to complete the course in 6 weeks. The course began several days later and quickly several red flags have become apparent. Despite my full payment being made, there are still items imperative to my understanding of the course that I continue to have issues accessing. I have raised the concern to the instructor several times and have been told on 3 different occasions that they would send up a service ticket to have the issue resolved but now Over two weeks later, I still do not have the necessary access. In addition, my instructor has proven to not be as well versed in the program as is advertised on the website. On several occasions, he has created confusion for me as he himself works through understanding the item he is supposed to be teaching me- in one instance he even stated to me that “he has not used a certain command before”- having consulted with other professionals in the field, it became clear the command was very basic and should have been taught easily by an instructor teaching an entry level course.
In addition, upon reaching out to confirm the services being provided and to understand next steps, I was met with even more information not originally presented. I was advised that I will not be able to get a job in the field with just the course I am taking currently, and was then told of another class to take in addition to my course to be prepared for the job market.
After some thought, I realized this is not the service that was promised and so I reached out to the business owner to request a refund for services not being rendered however he has refused to process a refund.
