Review: I went to the clinic to be checked on and was asked for financial proof to qualify for their services and while I was waiting in the lobby they called me in to see a doctor , he asked me a few questions and listened to my chest with his stethoscope, then I was asked to wait, and they then told me I didn't qualify on their scale of low income so therefore they couldn't help me . So they should not have sent me in to see the doctor until they checked qualification requirements, I believe they did so to trigger a $160 doctors fee . Our sliding fee policy is to allow our patients to bring in proof of income within 14 days of their visit if they do not have the complete information. The patient did not have 3 complete months worth of check stubs at the time of the visit and was informed by our receptionist that had 14 days to bring in the information and that she would be put under a self pay status until we could verify her income. The patient brought in the rest of the information and was over the 200% poverty level. The receptionist tried to explain to the patient that we can offer a payment plan but the patient left upset and took all of the paperwork with her.
