Lindell's Grandfather Clock Reviews (3)

We did service the clock on January 7, 2014.  The clock had been moved and was not running after the move.  Our technician noted the wear on the center shaft.  Again, we offer to have Jerry look at the clock.  It is an old movement and is at the age where it will need to be overhauled or replaced.  We only went there for and only charged to service the clock.  The price did not include any repairs to the clock.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They never serviced the clock in 2014. The clock did not run for several days before stopping. At best they have me confused with another customer or at worst they are lying to cover up.

Review: Had the grandfather clock for over 30 years cleaned and lubed it myself. The very first time I had it "professionally" done it stopped working. July 31st was the first visit, took the clock apart for a through cleaning but stopped working a few hours later. Several days of phone calls they came back the following week. clock stopped a few hours later. Calls that day, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Mon all to answering machine. Tech arrived Wednesday, clock worked for a few days and stopped again. Again calls go not returned. finally reached someone and was told the man to do the work was out of state and would not return until the following week. It is now the end of that following week and I'm told he is not available and no appointment time can be given. Five weeks from first visit and all I have to show for it is a clock that does not work.Desired Settlement: Clock working

Response:

The clock had run for several days after we serviced it, then the customer call to say the clock had stopped. Our technician went back to start the clock. There were toys all around the clock which could indicated that the clock had been bumped and knocked out of level. When we serviced the clock in January of 2014, our technician noted the center shaft had wear. This is normally caused by friction from not being oiled regularly. From the numbers on the clock movement we can determine the movement is 33 years old. The customer said he had been taking care of the clock for 35 years but never specified what he meant. As soon as the owner of the company, Jerry Lindell, is in the area he plans to look a the clock. Mr. Vitetta has been informed of this.
