I called to set appt for blood pressure checkI was told that they had an adult physical that they could do for $that would include a blood pressure check so I made my appointmentUpon my arrival, I confirmed that my goal was solely a BP check and further commented to the assistance once I got in the room After the test (which showed very good results), a doctor came in to further discuss and we had a nice chat about blood pressureTwo weeks later I get a bill for $304! I have made multiple phone calls to Lifetime and the billing company disputing the charge with no response other than “your visit was coded as a doctor visit”Multiple letters have been sent to Lifetime with my dispute comments and requesting a further detailed explanation and discussionNo response at allNow they send my bill to a collection agencyI do not have any specifics on detailed charges nor a detailed explanation on why my visit went from and $bp check to a $doctor visitI never requested
To Whom It May Concern:Per the customer’s claim on 02/17/2016, our office quoted him an “Adult Physical for $80.00”This could not be the case, because we have a very specific self-pay price sheet, and a physical (even for a child) would never be quoted at $Also, the patient has insurance,
so we would not have quoted him a “self-pay” price, as those prices are for patients who do not have insurance!Patient claimed they received a bill for $304.00, which was also not the caseThe bill was for $(a deductible amount the insurance dropped to the patient). Prior to the patient’s office visit, in which the claim references, they had not been seen for yearsBecause it had been years, the patient is legally considered a “new” patient to our officePer our office policy, when a patient is new or has not been seen for a certain amount of time, they are required to follow up with a provider, The patient was made aware of this over the phone, then scheduled an office visit with a provider to go over their requested issueHowever, while the patient was here for that office visit, they brought up and addressed another issue, and also received a vaccination (in which they agreed to receive). Sincerely, Lindsey K*** Office Manager
