I contacted Ms*** the day she filed her complaintOn that call I told her I would investigate the status of her loans and determine if our processing team had completed her consolidation as promisedI also had her original advisor, *** ***, contact her to see if he could address her
concerns. What he discovered was that we had told her that we would prepare and submit the documents to consolidate her loans under an income based Department of Education relief program and that she would likely pay approximately $per monthAs it happened she qualified for a $payment given her current income, family size and tax filing status, lower than what he indicated in his original consultation. So no monthly payment was required from her for the first yearI think this may have confused Ms*** and caused her to believe that we had not fulfilled the terms of our agreementAfter speaking with her advisor *** ***, after his meeting with Ms***, I decided to double check that her loans had, in fact, been consolidatedI discovered on the Department of Education database that her loans had been consolidated on September 23, and that she qualified for a $paymentIn that case we have completed the work we were paid to do and therefore we do not feel a refund is justifiedI offered to contact her lender directly to confirm this but she declinedI will offer to assist her with her annual recertification at no additional charge and hope this will be an acceptable resolution to this complaint
