My Fiancé and I booked a vacation through this travel agency to Cancun Mexico. We booked the resort through this agency based upon their recommendation. We also booked the Travel insurance that they provided as well. We booked the insurance for the trip because we were told by Andrea L that the insurance covers you if you are unable to get to your destination because of unforeseeable circumstances such as weather. We booked the trip and insurance through them and the morning of the day our plane was to leave our flight to Chicago (Midway) was cancelled due to weather because Chicago was experiencing “Microburst storms” as we in writing from Southwest. We filed a claim through the insurance agency that Liberty travel sold us and they denied it. We appealed that decision and they denied it again. We waited almost 8 weeks for the first denial to come through. When we contacted the insurance company on what was taking so long they said they were waiting on Ms. L to send them something. We contacted her and she apologized and sent over what she needed. The next day is when we were denied. We asked what she sent over and she said she could not tell us. When contacting Andrea L she has stated she would help us and look into what she can do for us and she has never contacted us back. Liberty travel and this *** insurance they are working with have some kind of scam going on. My Fiancé and I paid almost $2,600 for this trip and we have not received a penny back. We paid for a vacation we never even went on.
The client booked their own Southwest flights using their points and just booked the transfers, resort, and Insurance with us. The client stated that their flight was cancelled the day of departure due to bad weather In Chicago, They came into the office and their consultant Andi *** stated that they can file a claim with the Insurance company to seek reimbursement. The insurance company declined the claim since they said the flight was never cancelled and it departed as scheduled. Andi advised the clients that they needed to get It in writing from Southwest that the flight was cancelled and that's the last Andi has heard from the clients.
