Liberty Center Parking

Review: At about 12:15 p.m. on July 13 we had paid $88 for four days of parking, in cash, into the parking payment machine (billed at a $22 daily rate). Upon reaching the ticket booth to leave the garage we discovered both the ticket and receipt were missing. Admittedly this is an error on the customer, and all passengers were honest in the exact cost of the parking. The manager then charged us an additional $88 on our word alone, then allowed us to exit the garage. The complaint lies with the refusal of the parking company to take any further action to investigate even the possibility of a refund of the additional charges requested. To charge such a substantial amount solely on the word of the customer, necessitates a consideration of using reasonable follow-up means to confirm the original payment (surveillance cameras, records of charges on payment machine with time stamps). Agreeing to take the payment is an implicit agreement the time of stay was correct, and therefore the company is under obligation to obtain proof of the parking duration, which would necessitate a refund of the additional payment. To solicit payment of such a large payment, without the possibility of their own solid corroboration in the future, is both unprofessional and potentially extortative.Desired Settlement: We are requesting Liberty Center Parking undertake reasonable means to confirm our parking stay was valid, using means other than customer's word. We ask the company to check this with both timestamps and a simple video check, and in doing so we believe a refund of $88 is required.Our car has a Rhode Island [redacted], grey Toyota Camry.
