DO NOT RENT OR BUY FROM LEXINGTON!
The buildings are so cheaply built they just barely meet building codes (or in some case they don't at all). They're management team are clueless, the living conditions are sub par at best.
The property I lived in the air conditioning units had no insulation in them. We made calls through out the fall letting them know there was something wrong only to be told that a strong draft from your AC units is normal. Winter hits and all of a sudden our living room and bedrooms are covered in ice.
We were the first people to live in our BRAND NEW unit and the master bedroom toilet leaked. It took them 3 weeks to come out and change it. When they changed it they pulled a construction worker off the job site next door to install a toilet. Not being a plumber, he over tightened the bolts that secure the toilet, so as soon as someone sat on it it cracked. Guess what, another three weeks of un-returned phone calls before we finally received working toilet.
When you turned off the master bathroom light, the power in half the apartment would go out. When my daughter would turn off her bedroom light, the other half of the apartments power would go out.
The carpet is something I've never experienced before, it wears out so quickly. Even with daily vacuuming it looked old, crushed and worn out after only a few months.
They will let just about anyone into their apartments as long as they make payments. We had the loudest, most aggressive and harassing neighbors upstairs. It was a family of 5 or 6 living in a 3 bedroom apartment. They were nasty, leaving junk in front of their front door and dropping random items off their upstairs patio on to ours every day. This included toys, beer cans, and cigarette butts. We had to call the police on numerous occasions. After an initial polite introduction and welcome to the complex from our family, we told them the noise was very loud upstairs. From that point on they did their best to make as much noise as possible. Their pack of what I call 'feral children' would literally bang on the floor all day long. Morning, afternoon, night and well into the wee hours of the morning. Management did nothing. When we asked to get out of our lease, management told us the tenants upstairs had already put in their 30 notice. Alright, we thought, we'll just wait it out. 30 days came and went and they were still there. Brought it up again, and management again told us they would be out on a specific date. This was March, we moved out in July. I believe those tenants are still living there to this day.
Phone calls are NEVER returned. If you have a problem with anything inside your apartment, heaven help you. When you call the front office they range from unpleasant to down right nasty.
The outside was horrible, bare dirt with patches of grass and dead sod where they made a half [redacted] attempt at landscaping. The sprinkler system they installed pointed right at my front door. Thankfully, since they always use substandard products and contractors the system broke after the first winter.
When our lease was finally up, we found a new place to live we prepared the apartment to hand back over. Our final walk through went great and the property manager was pleased. She even said "The apartment looks great! We'll be mailing to deposit check back to you in about a month". About a month later I received a bill in the mail for over a thousand dollars in a convoluted chain of nonsensical billing charts. According to them we missed rent payments (I have records of all my checks, all the money came out, should THEY have records of this? Should I have been evicted if I didn't pay?) as well as having to replace a toilet seat and a 2' by 3' square of carpet.
Avoid this place at all costs.

The management is truly among the rudest I have ever encountered in apartment living. Lexington Homes is the Walmart of the real estate management world. Below minimal customer service towards renters, low quality products, uncaring, rude, and greedy. DO NOT RENT OR BUY!!

Review: I purchased a newly constructed home from Lexington Homes in the Tailwind Crossing sub-division on 3 April, 2012. The sump-pump was not plugged in to its power source when I arrived to do my pre-purchase walk through inspection. I did however, remove the cover and look into the sump pit. There was no water and I plugged in the pump and lifted the float to make sure the pump was operational. We lived in the home for over 2 months before the pump ever cycled. As time went by the pump started to cycle more frequently and the increase coincided with the excavation work being done on the new homes in our subdivision as well as two apartment complexes being built next door and across the street. I contacted [redacted], customer relations manager with Lexington, to address my concern over the lack of drainage and the large amounts of standing water in our surrounding greenbelt areas and backyards. He offered no help. The more landscape features added to these areas and excavation work with the new construction created more water flow in my sump pump. I contacted Lexington Homes, [redacted] and the Town of [redacted] several times by e-mail. phone or in person to voice my concern. Now, 22 months later, my basement is flooded, my front yard is torn up by the excavation investigation being done by the town of [redacted] and Lexington homes refuses to answer my call for help to mitigate this situation. I have been battling [redacted]'s disease for seven years. We bought a new home built by a reputable company, so we didn't have to deal with the stress of older home repairs or renovation costs. My sump pump had increased to cycling at the rate of 220 times per hour this entire winter season. It never stopped cycling, even during the stretch of 80 plus days of sub-zero weather. The pump failed on the night of March 11th as it could not keep up with the incoming water. My calls of concern have turned into a nightmare. My basement is where I have over twenty thousand dollars invested in fitness equipment and creature comforts to help me deal with my [redacted]'s. We were forced to move out of our home last week so the restoration company could go through the cleaning and drying process to make our home livable again. The town of [redacted] has discovered a large amount of water surging beneath the storm sewer drains and moving through the gravel that the sewer pipes are backfilled in. There has been no discovery of faulty water or sewer lines near my home. The temperatures are beginning to climb out of the freeze zone and with the spring rains looming in the near future, it's not a matter of if, it's when will my basement flood again. I bought a newly built, turnkey home, so I could focus on my health and well being. Now less than 2 years later, my wife and I are living in a nightmare. I have a large number of pictures showing the water issues surrounding my home over the past 22 months. I have e-mails, notes and contacts in a folder regarding this issue. There is a 12 foot pipe imbedded in gravel in the large hole excavated this week in my front lawn, where a pump has been installed to try to divert the water until discovery of this water source is made. It is currently pumping approximately 50 gallons per minute. I've been told I need to install a much larger sump pump system with battery back-up and probably a generator system in the event of an extended power failure. It only takes 8 minutes for my sump pit to begin over flowing.Desired Settlement: When a car dealer sells me a new car, they don't expect me to have to purchase new tires every 6 months due to a factory defect. Lexington has been aware of this drainage problem since June of 2012. They never made an attempt to fix the problem....just put a band aid on it! I need to recover the costs above my insurance coverage. I need a better sump system and a back-up generator system installed. I would not have purchased this home if we knew we would have all these extra costs involved in the first two years of ownership. We will have higher utility bills as well.....how do we get compensation for that? Not to mention a home that will have no resale vale!

Response:

I am the person who has been working with Mr [redacted] on his issues at his home. I had no idea that Mr [redacted] filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. We had some misunderstanding on this case with Mr [redacted]. It was an issue that took quit some time to figure out what the cause was. The bottom line is that we resolved it on or about May 1st and then we re sodded and landscaped his yard on June 4th.

Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

It took over 3 months from the start of many meetings to finally get sod laid back down in my front yard. We found evidence of a large volume of water traveling though the gravel that beds the utility pipes. The town of [redacted] and Lexington Builders agreed to split the cost of the excavation project. On June 5th Lexington had their landscaper replace all damaged Sod in the front yard. I now have to re-establish the front yard with a costly water bill. My front landscape feature was not replaced. I just finished that and reinstalled my flag pole at a out of pocket cost of $379 and 20 hours of my own labor. My sump pump system has been upgraded at a cost of $1600.00. The original pump locked up which created the damage to my finished basement. Several neighbors have had their pumps fail as well. A poorly designed sump pump that the plumber who contracts for lexington, refuses to warranty. My homeowners policy which I paid extra, in the event of flooding caused buy a failed sump pump, did not cover the landscaping, the flagpole replacement, the new sump pump system, the high utility bills for 3 months, or much of the damaged personal items in the basement. It's hard to replace the days of hard work and stress brought on by this event. My new sump pump system works hard to keep up with the amount of water still today, that enters through the drain tile. This is still an issue due to a poorly laid out sewer system.. The storm drain passes within 7 feet off my foundation on the north side of the house. A hydrologist and geologist both are in agreement that water is still entering my drain tile due to the close proximity off the utility pipes that are bedded in gravel, that is surrounded by a very tight clay.
