I am in receipt of Revdex.com complaint # [redacted] Attached is the contract for Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]. This is a Rent to Purchase agreement, for 36 months at $68.00 + tax per month. At the end of 36 successful payments they will own the Playhouse, ser# [redacted]....
There is an early “Buy Out Option” as noted on page 3. I am sorry if there has been any miss-communication. Our records show the account has been billed and paid 30 times, including the upfront payment for the first 30 days. We are holding one $68.00 payment as security deposit until the end of the agreement. See attachment of payment History… Our records also show a request was made in April for an Early Buyout, but was not made…. There may be some confusion on their part between a Buy Out and a Balance… Balance is the number of payments left when paying month to month. Buy Out is the lump sum amount required (as described on page 3) to pay off the entire agreement early. I have included and attached a current Buy Out amount of $205.55 which is good until July 15, 2016. As described, they may not exercise this option during the last 4 billings. (120 days)As for moving the Playhouse for free, it has never been Leonard’s policy to include “future” moves at no charge. It is unreasonable to expect anyone to provide this service. We have a posted schedule of pricing for buildings being moved for any prior or current customer. Since we are the manufacturer we have the equipment and knowhow to do the job correctly, just not Free.We do offer our Rent to Own customers Half Price of the posted fee. In this case that would be our minimum of $150.00 within a 30 mile radius. If they wish, I would Bill them and also could use the $68.00 security deposit to help pay for it.I’m sorry that they feel the way they do. We try hard to satisfy our customers, evident by over 50 years in business and over 55 sales locations.Sincerely, [redacted]Legal and Collections ManagerLeonard Buildings; LLCRent to Own Division###-###-#### ex [redacted]
Review: When we purchased the playhouse we were specifically told that if we were to ever move the company would move the playhouse for us FREE of charge. Now 2.5 years later the company wants to charge us $300 to move the playhouse. We are renter's and we would never have made this purchase with no way to move it. This is just the last in a long list of problems we have had with this company. We have called 4 different times to get the pay off on the play house (making multiple payments in the mean time)and every time the balance never reduces. Where is our money going? This has been the worst company and worst experience to deal with. Everyone we have been in contact with has been rude and unwilling to give any information that is helpful.Desired Settlement: We want the playhouse moved and delivered to the new location free of charge like we were told when purchasing. Once we pay off the play house we will never deal with this company again.
