Review: On April 7, 2014, I entered into a written contract with Mr. Leon DOrazio for $1,300 to hire his company (DOrazio Painting license # PA [redacted]) to do work at my house (remove wall paper/prime/paint a bedroom and repair and paint deck and deck chairs). Mr. DOrazio explained that the job would take a few days to complete. He required a $200 deposit at the signing of the contract to book the job for the days required. The balance of the money due would be paid in two installments, half at the end of the first day and the remainder at the end of the last day.On April 16 at approximately 1 pm, Mr. DOrazio and his workers came to my house to start the work. While they were there, I spoke to Mr. DOrazio about adding a few additional jobs (installing and adding trim to a bedroom door ($40) and install a front storm door ($210). In adding these jobs, it increased the job total to $1,550, which left a balance due of $1,350.At the end of April 16, Mr. DOrazios company had completed a portion of the repairs to the deck, removal of the wall paper, installing and trimming the bedroom door and purchasing the paint. Even though he was due to return to work on my home on April 18 and April 19, Mr. DOrazio requested the first payment of $775 to be paid, which I paid.To date, neither Mr. DOrazio nor anyone from his company has returned to complete the work. I have called all of the phone numbers listed for his company and they are disconnected. I have sent emails, with no response. I had to hire a new company not only to complete the work but they have to redo some of the work Mr. DOrazio Company did incorrectly.Desired Settlement: Mr. D'Orazio should refund the $200 deposit that was held for the days that his company was suppost to work on my house. He should also refund half of the 1st deposit ($387.50) since he only completed a small portion of the work contracted. In addition, Mr. D'Orazio left some hand tools, a small latter and traps at my house, which I would like him schedule to have these things picked up.
