Review: My wife and I made appointments for an eye exam and glasses using our eye med insurance plan which was accepted at the time of service. At the time of service both exams went smoothly with no additional problems were noted. our combined bill was the paid in full at the time of visit. approx. a month or two later I started receiving voicemails saying they needed my health insurance info. When I returned the call they told me I had a medical exam due to my diabetes (which I told them I didn't have) and I refused to give the requested information. After constant phone calls I finally relented and gave them my health insurance information. a few months later I again started receiving voicemails saying they needed my wife's health insurance information because she too had a medical exam (also unknown to us). They stated that she had a mole near her eye that needed to be monitored. Again after receiving numerous calls and letters I relented and sent them the requested info.
It was never billed to insurance.
Instead now I keep receiving overdue bills for the amount of 199.79 which I absolutely refuse to pay. My wife and I have both worn glasses since childhood and have never had an issue with eye exams anywhere else and feel that our insurance was accepted and all charges were paid in full by us at the time of service. If there were medical issues or additional billing it needed to be brought to our attention at the very least at the time of service.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
To date I have no record of ever being contacted by anyone to do with this matter, in fact I personally have no record of any calls made from the [redacted] area code nor toll free numbers since filing this complaint. I have however contacted the number provided twice and have yet to receive a response. Additionally after further research I discovered that the local franchise in fact billed the exact same amount for the same service to both my eye insurance company and my medical insurance company and was in fact paid by both. In my wifes' case, they billed neither of her insurance companies for services provided but billed us directly for the full amount.
