The customer was contacted by the owner of the companyHe spoke to her at length and refunded her moneyShe seemed to be satisfied with the responses of the owner and his sincerityIf she contacts you further and is still unhappy, I'm sure that the owner would do everything possible to make things right.? ? ? So that you are? aware, unbeknown to us, there was a documentary about "Racine Kringle" ? aired nationwide on CBS news magazine on? Sunday December 13th? and without prior knowledge of this broadcast our website was overwhelmed along with all other Racine bakeriesOur ability to deal with the immense response was futileMost kringle websites were shut down because of the volume, but we kept ours open a day longer than most of the othersOur phone system was also overwhelmed by the response and we couldn't respond to the influx of customers fast enoughAs each call was answered, more came in.? We were not staffed to deal with the overflowMost calls were diverted to voice mail but it truly overwhelmed our phone system and it was shut down by? Tuesday? also.Our employees with best intentions tried to answer calls and take orders, but by? Tuesday? it was also apparent that we could not handle everything that was thrown at us and we shut down our website as wellWe stopped taking ordersThe volume of calls was more than? times our annual mail order business and ? there was no way we could have predicted thisWe have been successfully responding to customers and explaining what happened and most are very understandingPlease let us know if you receive any further complaints or contacts.?
